  • BEST Audio Interface I've ever used
Style: Twin MkII
I record all of the time, this is what I do for a living. Prior to owning the Apollo Twin, I had the Apogee Duet and it worked great, but of course, like anything else, overtime you need to upgrade. I have an engineer that I work with quite often and he'd mentioned the UA Audio interfaces, and I decided to get this one, after check out the others. What makes this Audio Interface so valuable is the plug-ins. You get a few that come with the interface, BUT you also have a LOT of the mainstream companies that have obviously made deals with UA Audio. (Some examples are Neve, Lexicon, Manley, Teletronix, Fender, Marshall, Studer DBX, Capitol Studios....and much, much more. The software that you use with it, which is called CONSOLE is AMAZING to say the least. It's the software that you use to connect the hardware to your computer. I have a MAC and I've been recording quite a bit since I've got the interface and I've ALWAYS get great sounds out of my studio, but I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, I'm getting better sounds, based on the plug-ins that I'm able to add. With the Duet, even though it was great, you'd have to get the plug-ins from different resources, with UA Audio, you register your device, to to there website, setup your account and EVERYTHING you need is right there, whether its for guitar, vocals, mixing, mastering, keyboards, drums, horns, it doesn't matter, there plug-ins are great and reasonable. I told my engineer buddy, "I should've listened to you a while ago" - LOL. It's by far the Best Audio Interface I've ever owned and used. HIGHLY Recommend this interface. ! ... show more

  • Not worth the money
Style: Twin MkII
I purchased this unit intending to take my recordings to the next level. It was a complete disappointment. My Soundcraft UI24R preamps actually sounds better than this Apollo. Use you money to get better mics or outboard gear/ preamps. This thing is way over hyped.

  • Nice Apple only product.
Style: Twin MkII
The overall quality is great in the hardware department, but the software... Windows is barely supported, Linux is not supported at all, the apps that you need to install are extremely dated and the plugins you get feel more like a teaser to promote that they have more plugins you could pay for, when you already paid 1k for the hardware. Had to return it and look for an actual good piece of hardware with good software support. ... show more

  • No thunderbolt cable
Style: Twin MkII
I owned an apollo twin USB for a long time. I use windows like a majority of the population and hate how they've gone about this stupid cable game. NO THUNDERBOLT CALBE INCLUDED. Make that a big sticker on your site. It's frustrating enough that the cables aren't typical usbs but now they're not even including the damn cables. There's no magic to this box. You could not pick it out of a lineup of other ADDA converters despite the claims. The UAD plugins are great but they are monsters when it comes to CPU and DSP. There are much better plugins you can get to run especially now-a-days. They were doing great work back in the day but their hardware has not outpaced their ability to stay relevant. Good luck trying to get it to ever work in your programs and apps outside of your DAW. It's a nightmare of locked down weirdness. They are trying to build a locked up system just like Apple does. My advice to any newcomers to recording is to stick with focusrite or MOTU. They offer more inputs/outputs and don't do this vintage gimmicky crap. I'm still just mad about how complex and expensive they're making these stupid boxes. Constant marketing. Constant upsells. Pay for this. Pay for that. The ecosystem is exhausting. ... show more
