    • The five second delay allows the rocket to descend pretty close to the launch site.
I make about 16 model rockets each year and let the kids light 'em off Thanksgiving day. Pretty fun! It's gotten to be a tradition now and these engines are the ones I use. Generally reliable but just to make sure they fire I put a little rifle powder in the igniter hole along with the igniter and put a little tape over it to hold it in. Works every time. A paper match head will work too. This year I ordered the engines a little late but they arrived in plenty of time. Next Thanksgiving day, I'll do it all again. ... show more

    • Ignitors were blackened but everything worked
These arrived when expected. Upon opening the box, there was a slight smell, like firecrackers that have gone off. I noticed that the ignitors were blackened, unlike the ignitors for a different box that I had received. We tried them anyway, and they worked. I'm not sure what to make of that (perhaps these were getting old?), but I wanted to provide this feedback. ... show more
