I am a electrician and it was ez for me to do the install. Even with that said, I had my challenges installing the fixture. The way the electric box was mounted in the wall. I had to removed the mounting screws from the location were they were on the mounting plate and put them in the slot to the right from where they were located and slide them to edge of each slot snd tighten them down. This is important because you need these two screws to be vertical on Center, so your light fixture mount to these two screws, so that The fixture hangs right? Then I had to mount the plate to the junction box. These screws now were place thru the plate beside the other two screws that will hold the fixture to the wall. I then screwed the plate to the junction box and now I was able to mount the light fixture straight to the wall and level. Looks real good. The reason I had to do it like this is because the box was mounted in the wall crooked and I had to use the slot in the mounting plate to get the alignment. I needed to be able to hang the light fixture straight on the wall without it being crooked or look off. Hopefully you won’t have this problem but if you do you know how to deal with it one other thing the top mounting screw for the fixture itself was too short so I took a nut driver and put it over the short screw and hit it lightly with the hammer and make a dimple so the nut would fit on the screw so I could tighten the fixture down. My wife love the light. It really bright and the price we paid for the fixture was a deal. Only thing now is to mount the new mirror we ordered! Probably the easiest fixture installation I’ve ever done, super light without shades on making the whole process 100 times easier. I did this alone in less than 10 mins. ***DOES NOT come with bulbs so you will have to get your own bug for the price I’m not even mad I have soft light 60w bulbs pictured ... show more

My wife bought this fixture while I was out of town and she had trouble getting it firmly mounted. It worked but was a bit awkward and not quite flush with the wall. She’s plenty competent at such things so found the end result frustrating. Later, I had a reason to take it down briefly and discovered that the mounting plate was the mirror image of what it should be to properly fit the octagon box in the wall. No wonder it wouldn’t sit square. I moved the screws and GND lead to the other side, flipped the plate over, and then it could align with the screw holes in the wall and allow a secure, level installation. Looks nice. Still flimsy though. ... show more

These are matte black, and with daylight bulbs they are perfect for vanity lighting! They were easy to install and look super cute in our bathroom! The description of them is exactly what you get, we put them in all of our bathrooms!

I bought this in both the black and nickel and while both were very nice, the nickel had the slight edge because of how beautifully reflective the finish was when the light was on. Kept the nickel and ended up returning this one as our local Contractors' Warehouse was selling a similar light fixture in black as well - albeit an entire set with towel racks for around the same price - so it was a no brainer. Photo of how the nickel one looks (didn't have power yet at the time of photos so unfortunately light is off), but should be able to give you an idea for the size / aesthetic! ... show more
