Usually when it comes to furniture from Amazon I am a bit weary if I’m being honest. This desk however definitely impressed me and for the cost it is. Assembly is a little confusing at first with the directions but once a few things are laid out, it gets easier to manage. You will definitely need room for assembly and possibly another individual to help you. The crank is overall smooth once you get everything in place and I enjoy the fact you can tuck the crank handle underneath and out of the way. Table top is a bit wobbly when you get it placed which is what I was concerned about but the stands allow it to be secure enough to where I feel my PC and monitor are secure.     • The perfect desk is hard to find

Found out I'd be working from home 3 days a week so wanted to create an office type feel that was more comfortable than the corner I was in with my 20+ year old hand me down desk at home during covid. It's hard to find the perfect desk. I really like this one and its color. I am not a fan of just picture instructions cuz some drawings it's hard to see the small details. It took me a couple tries to get it right. Recommend at least 3 people to assist with assembly because of the size and needing to flip over and move to desired location. I think the crank feels a little cheap but so far so good. It's doing its job but squeaky sometimes. Have one monitor riser from old desk that my personal laptop is on, added an adjustable desktop monitor stand that matches the desk for when standing that has 2 monitors and my work laptop, all on this desk and still have space! Cranks up and down easily. Wish it went a couple inches lower for when seated. I'm 5'4" and have arthritis and tendonitis in my shoulders. Have my standard desk chair as high as it will go topped with a pillow and the desk as low as it goes. Still a little to high for me. Not sure if I want to add the keyboard drawer yet, but I am searching for a drafting chair so I can keep the desk at the standing height I like and have the chair for when I need a break from standing without having to lower the desk. [EDIT: ADDITION] I've had this desk functional and working for a few days now, the seller was very good at helping me fix the manufacturing issue and quickly sent me a replacement part for what was causing problems. I still had a professional come and reassemble the desk but now that it works I'm very very happy. Upped from 2 to 4 stars because it finally works, but still wasn't a great experience. Not including the actual cost of the desk, I've invested probably another $350+ into this thing between needing to pick it up and have it professionally assembled, disassembled, then reassembled. I haven't removed anything from this review, the original posting is below. [EDIT: ORIGINAL POST FOLLOWS] There is so much to say about this pos. I guess I'll just go in the order of events. First, my delivery came in two parts. The tabletop (just the wood pieces) and the legs, with all the screws and gears and mechanical parts. The wood pieces came on the day they were supposed to, but Amazon tracked the delivery as "delivery attempted" and I didn't get the legs. This went on for the 4 days following. The legs were never delivered to my house. After contacting Amazon, FedEx, and the seller, I finally determined I would have to pay $50 in Uber fees to pick this up from FedEx and lug the legs back to my house in the back of an Uber. So that was problem #1. Next up, I finally started to put this thing together. I've put together a number of electric raising desks, but none that were L-shaped. I figured this would be easier since there were no heavy electric parts or wiring, but boy was I wrong. The directions I got were for the electric version of this desk. So I was able to follow them for most of the construction, but when I got around to the last 2 steps, the directions gave me absolutely no idea on how to extend the legs to fit the tabletop and align the screws, while allotting room for the crank. I ended up having to hire a professional "furniture assembler" from Task Rabbit, and he still couldn't match the screws with the pre-drilled holes, or make the gear attachments any more stable than I could. This desk is either cheaply constructed with no quality checks before shipping, or we're both total idiots. I know which one I'm assuming. That was another $100 wasted on this thing. Finally, we manage to get the desk put together in a way that it would function until I had time to reach out to the seller. I was planning to do so today, but I wanted to give the warning first. As I sat down to write up this exact message, I tried to lower my desk height. It was working fine yesterday, to my surprise. But now today, even after I checked that all the gears and cranks were perfectly attached, the crank is getting caught on something, or the gear is stripped. Something. I have no idea. But I can no longer change the height of my desk. For over $600 after paying to pick this up and have it assembled, you'd think it would last for more than a literal day. I would return it if I didn't assume it would cost me even more time and money than it already has. Stay far, far away from this thing. I am open to being contacted by the seller if there is ANYTHING they can do to make this right, in which case this review may change. ... show more
