I love everything about this desk! We bought it for a grandchild who just turned 5. I looked online for what seemed like forever to find a desk that looked good, would be sturdy and safe and was not outrageously priced. This desk was the clear winner, so I took a chance and ordered it. Now I feel like a genius shopper. Putting it together was very easy, even for an older pair of grandparents. All the pieces were there, holes were perfectly pre-drilled, screws are sturdy, the light bamboo wood is lovely and dense as opposed to soft pine. There were no written instructions and this is the one area that could stand improvement. The pictures are clear and accurate, and that is how we assembled the pieces. I wondered aloud what the 3 lower holes in the desk were for, but my husband said we were assembling the desk as shown. After completion we realized the 3 lower holes were for small children- like our grandchild. That meant we had to take out a total of 12 screws and rescrew them to lower the desk. No big deal, but just so you know. The screws were of such quality that it was easy to do and that is great, because as our grandchild grows his parents will be able to easily adjust the desk and chair to suit. I cannot recommend this combo enough- especially since I did not even have to pay for shipping (and this thing is heavy.) ... show more

Very happy with the quality of this desk and chair set. The shipping package was well thought out, protecting it from any damage in transit. The instruction drawings were very clear and easy to understand. I took my time with assembling it, not fully tightening the screws until all the parts were together. The media could not be loaded. It is decently sturdy. The pieces are nice and it’s not terrible to put together. However, some of the parts were crooked and caused areas of the desk to not be even. The little shelves started perfect on the left but lifted as it went to the right due to bad hole placement in the back. It makes an ugly gap on the right side. The chair has an uneven leg. The instructions could be confusing for some people since it’s just pictures like an IKEA piece with few words but it gets the point across. The screws come thrown in two bags mixed together. No organization really so you’ll have to sort them. It only mildly bothered me so I figured I’d let others know in case. Overall it’s a nice size and sturdiness for the price, even if the parts were a little janky. I’ll be putting it on carpet so the crooked leg won’t be as noticeable. And who knows, maybe your set won’t be so crooked. It’s worth finding out. ... show more

I do like the design and material of this children's desk set. Assembly was more complicated than I had anticipated because of the issues with the screws fitting into the holes properly and tightening them accordingly. The directions are easy to follow and carry out. My issue is more with the chair assembly. Not what to do but more so how to do it once everything is in place. It says do not tighten until all screws until they are all in place. All screws are now in place, but the tightening is nearly impossible. It still works but the results are unfinished and a bit too wobbly for my taste. I am aware that it is an adjustable, however, it shouldn't be this hard to screw in the nails properly without blistering your fingers with the wrench provided. I am a single mom and will be calling one of my male friends for back up at this point. Other than that, no complaints. It is a nice design, and my son is excited to finally have his very own writing center. ... show more
