I bought these to collage on, and they're mostly good. Some of them are slightly warped—they don't lie completely flat on the table—and there's sometimes a bit of a burr coming off the corners that needs to be sanded off to look professional. I haven't used other wood panels to know if this simply comes with the territory, but the surface is slightly textured so that I was unable to paint a totally straight line using masking tape. I really like these, they are good for acrylic painting and crafting. I've bought these before in different sizes and the quality has never disappointed me. I do think they are a little on the pricey side, but sadly most things are these days. I like that they come with corner protectors on all the pieces of wood and sealed together in tight packaging to protect the wood from any damage. Very good value for the price! The finish is very smooth and they work very well for painting, charcoal, graphite, etc. I usually end up having to sand down the edges because they can be a little sharp. But I use these for portraits and they're a great option for it since you don't necessarily need to add any hardware to the back to hang it. So it gives my clients the option to have it stand alone or be hung on the wall ... show more
