  • Great Read!
Realistic, light suspense, with humor, romance, and relationship issues thrown in. Just enough "steaminess" to get your heart pitter-pattering, without graphic wording. Downloaded the first book as a freebie and got hooked! On the fourth book in the series now and the quality hasn't wavered. These are great books at reasonable prices, which seems to be unusual for quality electronic books. (Never have understood why electronic versions should be as expensive as hard copies. Hello!! Aren't we saving trees, ink, shipping, etc.? Apologies for the rant...) Love these books and love the prices...they are also lendable, which is a plus. Keep 'em coming Gemma! ... show more

  • it is funny and easy to read
This series is pure fluff, but enjoyable. It is far from believable, but that being said, it is funny and easy to read. I enjoyed it tremendously. If you arelooking for deep meaning and significance, this is not the book to read, but if you are looking for a pleasant evening reading this is the book for you. ... show more

  • Very entertaining fun cozy mystery.
This is book 3 in this fun cozy mystery series. I love the varied, interesting, fun characters, the humor, the mystery, and the action. Sometimes the story drags a bit, but the book really is entertaining and enjoyable. I will read this whole series.

  • Hilarious mystery
'Undercover in High Heels' was another awesome book in this series. I loved the storyline and how it played out. I'm actually surprised Maddie still has a heartbeat after some of her antics. I think that's what makes this series so good, her ability to fall face first into some of the funniest scenarios. I literally didn't put this book down. I laughed out loud a lot and shook my head a lot more. I absolutely love the characters. I look forward to reading the next book. I am a huge fan of Gemma Halliday, and she has yet to disappoint me with her books. A must add to your tbr list. ... show more

  • There Can be more to a girl than her shoes.
Soap operas have more drama off set than they do on set. When Maddie finds out that the main character on her favorite soap opera has been receiving life threatening letters she decides to take it upon herself to go undercover and figure it out. In order to do that she has to figure out a way to get on set. With her best friend she finds her way on set, but where ever Maddie goes murder follows, and soon there is a murder on set. Maddie, her best friend, and her sexy cop boyfriend all find a way to be on the famous soap opera set to find out who the murder is. This novel is an amazing follow up mystery to her first one following the cute clumsy blond around who can't stay away from fast food. Of course read this mystery because they are addicting, really good, and they make you feel like you can do anything in a cute pair of heels. • A Cartoonish World that just seems to fit.
I love how Hollywood likes to make fun of itself (just watch the Bones episode "The Suit on the Set"). Gemma Halliday knows this, and ran with it to make the LA in her High Heels novel. "Undercover in High Heels" starts out with Maddie and Dana catching up on their "Desperate Housewives"-esque prime time soap. Setting the scene like that is always a good way to make the characters relatable. Who doeesn't watch TV with their friends. After the Murder du Dour, Maddie and Dana get it into their heads to solve the mystery by working on the set. Dana does a really good job at convincing Maddie to get involved, even when she shouldn't. Maddie wants to be left alone. She doesn't want to go, but Dana is one persuasive chick. Which Ramirez probably hates. He also hates that Maddie associates with Felix. Ramirez is really protective to the point of obnoxious. I know why Maddie goes along with Dana's schemes. She's trying to get Ramirez to believe that she can take care of herself. Unfortunately, while she usually solves the crime, Ramirez doesn't think of her as an equal. Just a dumb blonde. I enjoyed this book, but Ramirez is really starting to annoy me and Felix is looking better and better. Review written by Rebekah Martin, author of "Sugar and Spies (Spy Sisters 1)" ... show more

  • Down to earth gal with alota spunk!
Easy read. Love that Maddie is living her own life while getting involved with creepy characters. Some of the scenario's are a bit far fetched. I just can't see how she stays in shape eating what she does all the time. Also how does anyone Sprint in heels? Wish I could do that. I'll keep on reading her stories as they are very entertaining. ... show more
