I wanted to like this as much as I like Terre d Hermes but nor me or my wife liked it ,is to powdery for my liking to mature I'll say. Maybe a little bit dated, I favor wood and citrus like Terre d Hermes or Royal our from Creed, now I got a $112 .00 cologne with me that I won't wear, the dark side of blind buying cologne online.Amazon won't take it back either! update 03/08/2014: I'm starting to like this smell for some reason it doesn't stay the same thru the entire day it matures as it stay on. The projection is not that "good", it stay close to the skin but for me is a good thing I don't like loud and obnoxious smells hence good in parenthesis. Very refreshing and green, only downside is that it is on the weaker side. But that’s to be expected from an eau d’toilette. If you’re looking for a powerful head turner, this isn’t the one, but if you want a subtle flowery-green scent good for any occasion this is a great choice.

I bought this based solely on the reviews; I had never actually experienced this or any other Hermes fragrance. I received the 1.6 oz eau de toilette spray in approximately 5 days & I immediately sprayed it on my arm. At first, I was overwhelmed by the strength of the top note, but once it settled in, I was truly smitten. I offered my arm up to my husband's nose for inspection & he said it smells amazing & expensive. I laughed out loud to that last bit. I enjoy woodsy floral fragrances the most; this fits into that category for me. I notice the Lotus Flower & Green Mango the most, but as the day progresses the scent mellows a little adding a woodsy note to the mix. I love fragrance, I use a different one each day, rotating between 5 or 6 different scents, but this is my new favorite. I like fresh scents for summer, but they can sometimes be too soapy, too sweet, or smell cliche'd. This is completely different. It starts out with a lot of citrus fruit, which fades quickly. The middle smells green, like plants after rain. The end is a dry incense. The notes are perfectly balanced. The citrus is never too sharp, the middle is never too grassy, and the incense at the end is never too smoky. This is great for summer because it's not the least bit heavy. The notes are so natural and fresh that it won't draw attention to itself, so it's great for casual events. I would definitely recommend ordering this from Amazon because it's cheaper than you will find it anywhere else. I received mine much sooner than I had expected. This is my second bottle of this perfume, first from this seller. I find the perfume has a slightly different scent as well as the scent doesn’t last anywhere as long as my first bottle. The scent would stay till the next day on my pillows ! I don’t want to say it’s not authentic because I checked the reviews on the website where I originally bought this perfume the first time and recently several reviewers made the same comment about the scent and it’s lasting ability. I think the manufacturer might have changed the amount of actual perfume in the way de toilette:-/ ... show more

For those considering Un Jardin Sur Le Nil, it is an EDT not a EDP or Parfum. So it is lighter and may not last the entire day but that shouldn't be considered a flaw. Un Jardin Sur Le Nil is enchanting, subtle and fleeting. It has impact without being dramatic. I get "You smell really good" compliments as opposed to "I like your perfume" compliments if that makes sense.
