I am 5'5" and 143 pounds, and size Small fits me well. These fit easily under other layers to add insulation, without adding noticeable bulk. I typically wear the top under a slim-fit t-shirt and the bottoms under jeans or khakis. The fabric's silky, thin, and light and feels great on the skin. It's also stretchy and flexible and moves well with my body. Keep in mind they won't make a huge difference with warmth, so on really cold days, you'll need more than this. Although reasonably form-fitting, I wouldn't consider them compression clothing, because they simply aren't tight or supportive enough. But overall, this base layer set is great. They're my first Umbro gear since playing youth soccer decades ago, and I'm glad I've become reacquainted with the brand! ... show more

So I was happy when I first put these on. They were comfortable and breathed well enough for a basic base layer. However, men, beware. These don’t have “front access” if ya know what I mean. I was very surprised by this which is the reason for the 2 star review.

Another great Umbro quality base layer compression shirt and pants set. This set is very warm and very breathable. The color is dark green but looks gray on the review pics. Beautiful color and the fit is right on. Great to wear as a base layer or to use for the gym. Very thin but very warm. The stitching is double stitched everywhere. So it gives it strength from ripping or tearing at the seams. Also its made of 95% polyester and 5% spandex to give it some stretch flexibility. These are just normal basic base layers. They aren't so warm I worry about getting overheated, but I can definitely tell I have them on. The description refers to these as compression shirt and pants, but I don't feel any compression from them - you can see they aren't that tight on me. I like the blue color and I like the fit - they don't make me feel bulky when wearing them under my clothes.
