  • Works perfectly
Been using this breaker for about a month now with no problems.

  • Replaces my dual circuit breaker with single circuit.
I was rewiring an outlet for an air compressor from 220 volts to 120 volts and had to change from a dual circuit breaker to a single, so this one fit the opening in the power panel and does what I want. Won't know if it works or not until I have a electrical problem.... but the compressor runs well with the rewired outlet. ... show more

  • Inspect Breaker Before Starting Installation.
First thing you should do before starting your installation process is to inspect the breakers (and don't forget to turn off the main breaker too.) I bought a total of 7 and 2 of them were missing the screw to clamp on the conductor wire. Unfortunately I didn't noticed this before tearing apart my panel which resulted in having to reuse the old breakers temporarily while going thru the exchange process. Worst yet, the next batch of Breakers I bought also included one with a missing screw, rendering it useless. I suggest if time is of the essence, you should purchase more than you need and return what is unused, otherwise you may find yourself having to "Pig Tail" two circuits into one breaker temporarily. It seems the breakers are loosely packaged and the screws can fall off. For the ones that came without the missing screw they seem to work fine, they fit similarly to the old original "Red FPE" made ones. Although I should honestly say, unless you're frugal with your household electrical use, I would suggest replacing the entire panel. A quick google of "FPE Stab Lok" will give you many reasons to... Otherwise, If you have a basic understanding of electrical circuits, take necessary steps to prevent overloading any circuits, and are frugal with your electrical use, you should be fine replacing the old "Red FPE" breakers with these??? (??? because I have been using my old FPE Stab Lok Panel that came with the house along with these breakers for over 20 years with no issues and I can confirm these breakers do trip. I'm not sure if its because these breakers are built better and safer than the old Red FPE ones or I'm simply running on Luck. Who knows. Fingers Crossed.) ... show more

  • Finally replacement circuit breakers for Federal Pacific panels
Perfect fit. It's nice to see a replacement for the old Federal Pacific panels. I have read that it is recommended to replace the whole panel instead of just replacing the breakers. This is due to fire hazards with those old panels. These circuit breakers are inexpensive and slow a fix top be made that won't break the bank. ... show more

  • Installed 5 of these in my breaker box
I have a Federal Pacific box with 16 slots. I have read about all there is about the risks associated with Federal Pacific breakers and boxes. I live in a 30 year old high rise with approximately 360 units. Nobody in my building has ever had any problems with the Federal Pacific breakers that I or building management knows of...but then again, the breakers are 30 years old so I decided to change some of them. I initially ordered 5 of these and have 5 more on the way. I have had no problems installing these Connecticut Electric single pole 20 amp breakers. I plan to get Connecticut Electric 30 and 50 amp double pole breakers maybe in the next year. Depends if I run into any issues with these 20 amp ones. Have run the first five breakers for about two months. Hope I never have to test whether they actually work or not...but since Sears and Home Depot sell these breakers...gives me more peace of mind that they are at least in brand new condition. Changing my breaker box will cost upwards of $2500...nobody in the building has changed out the Federal Pacific box...yet. ... show more

  • Works but hard to install
I have an old FPE panel and ordered this 20 amp thick breaker for my workshop 12-2. The breaker is very hard to install. I had to use a scrap piece of 1X to tap into place. It works which is the important part.

  • Definitely helped save money!
The circuit breakers work as they should. I was replacing a double pole circuit breaker that an electrician replaced after we were hit with a 7200 volt power surge. When I realized that the double pole was covering two of our house circuits, I ordered the two single pole circuit breakers to replace the double pole. As most of our electrical hardware had to be replaced, I found it a pain to flip the double pole circuit breaker to work on the furnace (110 volt), which also turned off the kitchen circuit including fridge, microwave and other plug-ins in the kitchen as well as the freezer in the garage where the furnace is located. I guess the electrician couldn't find two single pole breakers or wasn't thinking too clearly. Since the power company paid most of the bills, I didn't complain to them about this oversight. ... show more
