  • Whimsical, charming, down right funny and hard to put down
I had read some of the reviewers who felt this did not portray school in a good light, we felt the opposite, my grandson is entering 3rd grade and was captivated by the fun in this amazing story- I am so Thrilled there is going to be a 2nd book and hope there are a lot more. Love the graphics, clever and adorable, absolutely LOL. Enjoy this with your kids, as soon as he finished, he wanted to read it Again. High praise Indeed. ... show more

  • A Doggy Treat
Delightful. Looking for a humorous end-of-year read aloud for my 2nd/3rd grade class, I used Teacher magazine's book reviews to choose this one. How refreshing to find a funny book that is not dependent upon potty humor or unkind remarks about teachers and parents. Squirrel and meat humor are so much more fun, and the dogs' robust enjoyment of school made me smile. The author captures the voices of the two dogs so expressively that you fall in love with them from the very start. ... show more

  • Fun Book for Reluctant Readers
Working as a reading teacher, many of my students are reluctant to find a book and stick with it. Two Dogs in a Trench Coat is a great book for them; it's funny, and the illustrations keep them engaged, and help them work on different reading skills, such as visualizing and inferencing. Looking forward to adding the sequel to my classroom library! ... show more

  • Funny books - perfect for family read-alouds
My family loves these books! They are funny, perfect for upper elementary who want a light-hearted romp, and work as read-alouds for younger kids as well, especially with the illustrations every few pages. We are big fans of Sassy and Waldo, and their human family, too!

  • Reccomend to all
This is such a cute book. It helped get my reluctant son to read. We would talk about our dogs doing the things that Sassy and Waldo do. I love that there is a series of books to keep him going.

  • These dogs are professionals ;)
Oh my gosh! I had no idea a book could be so hilarious! These dogs take the business of being dogs very seriously. My 5-year old is obsessed, but I have to admit, I am too. So much so, that I even shared it with a friend. AMAZING.

  • Hilarious & clever! Laugh-out-loud funny.
This is one of the funniest and cleverest books I've read in a long time. My daughter's giggles turned into outright guffaw laughs. My husband heard us laughing and he came to join our reading. We are totally enjoying this books. Just so well done. Bravo!
