Very easy to put together - took maybe 30 minutes. I’m using it to store cookbooks in the kitchen. I think it looks more expensive than it was. Only note would be to check the shelves. Some had some slight imperfections but I just made sure to put those sides face down.

    • Already damaged when received

2 of the shelves were cracked almost all the way through when we opened the box. The box was not damaged either so seems to be not very sturdy if it cracked and the packaging was fine. Make sure and check all peices before putting it together.

    • Solid, inexpensive shelf! Looks like it's from IKEA

This shelf is pretty straightforward! It matches exactly what I expected. It’s made out of lightweight wood and particle board and is held together with bolts. Its sturdiness is about what I’d expect from such an inexpensive shelf on Amazon. Assembling this, I was able to torque the posts very firmly. I really twisted each one so that I could barely twist them further! This made each connection between each shelf and the next very strong. I only over-torqued one of the posts once, which made the plastic nut/anchor inside the post spin a little. But it’s still sturdy! I like that the instructions were clear and completely picture-based. No reading! Along with this, all of the pieces had little stickers clearly identifying if the part is A, B, C, etc. The stickers would mostly stay hidden if you turn the parts the right way, but if you don’t, they are SUPER easy to peel off without leaving residue! I really appreciated this. I peeled all stickers off. Final notes: If you’re a stickler for perfect furniture, I will say that each of the posts slightly varies on their exact positioning to each shelf. Some posts are perfectly flush with the edge of each shelf, while others are about 1mm in from the edge. I can’t notice, but I thought I’d note this in case you’re obsessed with details. I’ll also note that of the (12) posts, (1) came with a cosmetic dent on the side. I just made sure to orient this away from what I see. Of the (4) shelves, (1) came with a ding in the middle, but I just made sure to put this on the bottom so I wouldn’t see it. ... show more

Very easy to put together! I'm not a huge fan of being able to se the screws on the top shelf, but it's not too bad. There are some tiny, minor imperfections in the wooden pieces, but they're only noticeable up very close. The shelves themselves were especially well protected with plastic corner pieces.
