I was on the fence on this one. Reviews can be hard to filter through and with an item like this, opinions will differ based on the size of the person. I went with the large. I am 5’ 3” and without revealing my weight, which is reasonable and average, I am not skinny. Could I have gone with a medium? Very possibly. But I am happy with the large as it is comfortable and roomy, not snug or tight. All those things said, this is a wonderful robe! It looks nice, it’s a great weight. I didn’t buy it to be super warm or I would have opted for something plush. This is a waffle knit, it’s not supposed to be warm and fuzzy. It’s lightweight and perfect for getting out of the shower until you get dressed. Some people say it’s not absorbent. Is a robe supposed to be absorbent?? That’s not what I use a robe for, that’s what I use a towel for. I did not find the tie to be too short at all, it’s the perfect length. I do wish it was slightly softer but it’s also brand new so perhaps after washing it a few times it will soften slightly. Too big. Usually wear a large but this size was way too big. Material good quality and soft. Ordered in medium instead. I'm 5 feet 155 lbs and I can usually wear a large. Recommend ordering one size down.
