The media could not be loaded. I have a catio that houses feral cats and it can be tough to find nice houses that the cats like and that also keep them warm. This heated cat house was a huge hit with my feral cats! They immediately went into it and you can often find two at a time inside. It stays the perfect temperature at all times. It might look compact but it has a lot of space and was so easy to put together. It took about three minutes. I love that the flaps can stay up or down. My guys like them up. This review is for: TURBRO Heated Cat House Outdoor, Insulated and Weatherproof Iron Shelter for Feral and Cats Outside, Heating Pad Bed with 14.7ft Anti-Bite Cord, UL Test Passed, Blue The price for this is really pretty decent considering what you get. It's a pretty good house if you are taking care of a cat that's outside, as long as your winters don't get too cold and you can put this in a pretty dry area that won't get really wet. The cover goes down over the top of the metal crate, but it doesn't cover the bottom. There is going to be airflow coming up through the bottom. Considering that you're putting this on some kind of cold ground, this seems like an oversight. The bottom should be sealed off or covered somehow. There is no insulation, so that is something to factor in. They make silver padded insulation for wrapping around pipes and things like that that you can buy in rolls. I would suggest getting some of that and trying to insulate this from the outside to some degree. Then I would throw a heavy duty tarp over the entire thing. Think of an igloo with the little tunnel for the entrance. Tightly roll one edge of the tarp, then form it into a tunnel shape and put two bricks on either side to make it hold that shape. It will stay just like that. Then you have a little tunnel opening going to this shelter. Coyotes cannot stick their heads in the shelter anymore. Large raccoons won't be able to fit. Snow and rain won't blow in anymore. It's just much more secure and helps keep the elements out. The doors on this thing are very large. The opening should only be about 5.5 in. That's another reason to use the tarp idea. The size of this thing is actually very good if you only have one cat, or perhaps two smaller cats. You don't want a feral cat shelter being too large because they are using their body heat, partially, to keep it heated. As little airspace as possible is good. ... show more

Sturdy and easy to assemble but won’t heat no matter what we do and the “instruction manual” is zero help. REALLY don’t want the hassle of returning it but also REALLY need the heating function to work. Any suggestions?

This is a sturdy house with a nice warm pad but our cat doesn't seem to care for it. I like the openings on both sides with velcro adjusting.
