  • Could have been so much better!
Style: Library of Books
In theory, this is exactly what I wanted. In reality, there are a few things to know before starting. 1. You will need Krazy Glue. For 99% of the model. The tiny glue that comes with it is useless and craft glue isn't fast drying enough. 2. Expect to break a few pieces trying to punch them out of the wood panels. I broke several of the small pieces, it's impossible to get them out without breaking or peeling the top layer of the piece. 3. The instructions are crap. 4. You will need a tweezer to place items. The screws that are supposed to attach the power box are microscopic. My husband and I had a great laugh trying to get them to work. I had to glue them in. It comes together in the end (minus a few pieces), but for $50? Not worth it. ... show more

Love it. But the G panel is not cut out properly. Couldn't use any of them! Have an incomplete product.

  • Quality issues, but fun to assemble and cool to look at
Style: Library of Books
I really enjoy book nooks. They add something else interesting to your bookshelves that can be an unexpected surprise for guests or a fun for you. Miniatures of this sort are usually a bit of a time sink and will take several hours. I think this one took me about 8-9 hours to complete but a lot of that was waiting for the glue to dry. You may be able to reduce that time if you use a quick drying glue like crazy glue or something. I also tend to glue more than recommended to make for strong sturdy pieces that hold up a little better against movement (I rearrange books frequently on my shelves and read them so bumping and sliding these around is pretty common for me). This is now my 4th book nook that I've assembled. In comparison it is not the most difficult nor is it the easiest I've done. I'd say it's an intermediate level build. I love designs that are based on studies and libraries and such, and this one is a cute design. Usually I customize the a little but I decided to just do this one as it came. It looks nice when finished, but it has some serious quality issues. First, I love that they did some intricate and delicate designs, I love those kinds of styles, but they were exceptionally difficult to punch out without damaging them. Either the quality of wood or the adhesive layers between the thin layers of wood needs to be better. Maybe they could have done something about making fewer connecting points around the cut so it would release easier. This leads into the second issue which is that many pieces were difficult to remove in general and the top painted/printed layer of the wood has a high tendency to peel off and crack. All of the layers seemed to like to separate and break. I ended up having to glue some of the pieces layers and chips back together but other pieces were not very fixable. This is why I took one star off because I've made three other book nooks with similar pieces, some intricate even, and none had so many issues with breaking, chipping, and peeling. Finally, the last complaint I have is about the sensor. Mine doesn't seem to work. It doesn't turn off automatically and it doesn't sense movement around it or fingers directly touching it. So despite having a sensor it still has to be operated by the on/off switch on the back. I'm guessing some part of my sensor is faulty, but a little quality control seems to be the biggest issue for this whole set. The instructions aren't the worst ones I've used but there are a few parts that are a little unclear or it's easy to miss steps. I still found this enjoyable to put together and even with the damaged and missing (because they were too broken to use) pieces it still turned out nicely. Considering all the quality control issues though, I would say it's currently overpriced. ... show more

  • LOVE!!!!

Absolutely obsessed with this book Nook! My very first one and it was perfect. Words of caution though some pieces are super delicate and take patience popping out or they break 😬 but over all love love love!

  • Amazing miniature
Style: Library of Books
This miniature is amazingly nice and definitely fun to make and is very easy to make but just need some patience. I like how it have a sensor in the front it automatically turn off after 20 to 30 second I think. And I think this it’s a really nice piece. I did a little DIY myself by just adding a small hitch on it so I can open it and take a look inside, is very easy to do just a bit on sanding and that’s all you need to get it done, I think this will be like a perfect gift for someone that like to read or just in to miniature books and there is a lot of them in there. Definitely recommend for someone that is new to miniature as this is an pretty easy piece to make just glue and not much to work on. ... show more
