I found this kit pretty easy to put together. Some bits were a bit fiddly but that's to be expected when assembling miniature things. The wiring was a pain because the wires are very thin so stripping off the coating is difficult to do without accidentally cutting or ripping the wires. The only piece I didn't like is the witch hat which is made of paper, that just doesn't look good. Once I find a better tiny witch hat I will be replacing it. I used some good, fast drying clear crafting glue for 95% of the project. I used hot glue to attach the wires and I had to bust out the super glue to put the front piece on because it just didn't want to stick with the craft glue. ... show more

Fun project and like that it has a light, however this book nook is very detailed and you do have to configure the wiring. The last book nook I made, already had the wires fixed, all I had to do was place the wires. I did a book nook (not from this brand) that I made had too many wires, and had to configure them and it didn't work, even after testing them. This book nook comes with only a few wires and I haven't tried them yet, but my last experience of wiring was a disaster! That's why I'm giving a four star. All the pieces and items are great and of course still fun, not easy but fun. After building this DIY project, it was challenging, but it was fun to build and the wiring was a lot more easier than I had anticipated. ... show more

The directions are lacking… mostly lacking woods, the “wood” color is unrealistic, I used wood repair markers to recolor them. The pieces mostly fit and they do give extra pieces and artwork, the piece that gave me the most trouble was the latch on the battery compartment. I broke the first one trying to make it fit. Square peg round hole, actually. I ended up using a round file (bead reamer) to make the hole slightly larger. I also am making it personalized with my own artwork and photos scaled down, nothing really wrong with the offered artwork. Overall it’s a good starter project especially if you’re creative and can work with the imperfections. One more note on scale if you plan to personalize, it’s 1/24ish, not the typical miniature scale. ... show more

This kit comes with way more detail pieces than I had anticipated. The level of detail looks amazing. It even comes with some sheets of paper that you use basically like wall paper. You have to be careful breaking the pieces out because some are really small and fragile. My daughter just started putting this together. She was having a bit of difficulty at first because of the type of glue she had. We ended up getting the small tubes of super glue from the dollar store, and she says that works well. We also got a small hobby knife from there to cut the pieces out when needed. I will try to update this review with some pictures when it is done. ... show more

This one is so cute! It really did not take much time for me to put together. I also love that all the parts fit together perfectly, too. One of the previous kits did not quite fit and I had to rig it. Fortunately, the pieces were perfect on this one. And it was SO CUTE! The lights worked well. It does not have great directions for the lights, but since I have done several of these, it was not bad. This is another one that is EXTRA small, so you will need tweezers. It is tall, but very slim. It would look great on an actual book shelf. I love it! ... show more

This is a well-designed book nook kit. Everything goes together well and it is completely enclosed with clear plastic panels so dust won't be a problem. There are a lot of flowers to construct out of cut tissue paper. This would not be a good entry-level kit, but it is a nice challenge if you enjoy the finer crafty-type kits. The electrical components are of the "twist the wires together and put tape over it" type. I don't like those and choose to solder the connections and use heat-shrink. There were some components missing from my kit (11 beads labeled Q33 in the instructions). I left some out of the kit and replaced others with some beads I had lying around. The instructions are a bit of a problem. There are several cases where there is a picture of the general area where some part needs to be glued, but then it turns out that if you do it the way it is pictured, it is the way of another part that needs to be placed later. (rocks on the path, railing on the balcony, etc.) Since the parts are glued to paper, moving things later causes rips. ... show more
