If you’re sick of losing expensive lures in the trees give these a shot. I bought these after losing a couple of whopper ploppers and couldn’t justify the expense of another just to hang it in a tree. They definitely catch fish, however, I knocked down a star due to some inconsistency in the action between each lure that was in the pack. They don’t have quite have the consistent action of their brand name counter part. The other issue is the overall build they definitely won’t hold up well to regular wear and tear but that’s really a non issue for me as these lures seem to be tree magnets for me anyway. ... show more

They attract fish. Fourth or fifth cast and had a solid hit and a few minutes later landed a nice large mouth. After that it didn’t spin and float correctly. Second lure, same thing. 15 minutes in I landed another solid fish, lure was toast. Used the third lure last night and landed this large mouth, next cast, the lure did not operate properly. I happened to be on the Potomac River and pulled this out on an overcast day. I just kept catching fish. I purchased three of these but never needed to used the other two. I bounce it off rocks, caught several 17+ inch smallies. I've used the other versions of this and always had trouble with line twist and keeping the action going. Besides running into leaves, it ran straight and true with no line twist. For two straight days. Most importantly, the price was right compared to the other two name brand versions of this item. You get what you pay for and this is worth the money. This lure swims great, looks very realistic and I caught several fish during first usage. I would have given this a 5 star review if there was a 3rd hook on the lure. I missed several hits and I think if there was a 3rd hook, that would have reduced my chances of missing these fish. ... show more
