  • Better than expected by far!
Size: Kit
To be honest, I didn't expect much considering where I'm buying this from, but I'll have to eat crow. This thing is MUCH nicer than I expected! The rubber seals are heavy duty rubber of higher quality than you'd get with typical name brand Delphi connectors. The connectors are of average quality, maybe a small step cheaper than name brand ones, but plenty useable, even for higher end builds. The case on this is thick! I was floored with how heavy the package was. Most times the stuff is CCA and paper thin casings. I was able to use my own connectors (cause I had them already). I wired up this block with several 10 gage (AWG) primary wires without issue. My only wish for this is a better stand off setup and an extra 6 fuses. (mine is 6 relays, 6 fuses) I have to add a supplementary fuse block to this to meet my needs. My fault, I should have planned ahead a bit better, ah well. I'll be buying a couple more just to have on hand for future projects! ... show more

  • 1967 f100 relay upgrade
Size: Kit
I bought this to upgrade a Ford f100. I am in the process of adding relays for a dual electric fan setup and headlight relays. Right now I only will be using 4 out of the 6 available fuses and relays. I was a little worried when I read the review by someone saying that they had a hundred dollar crimper and something called f dies that they couldn't get to crimp the terminals properly. I decided to risk it and try it anyway. I have a crimper I bought on sale for 9.99 at my local big box store (the crimper in the photo). After drawing out my wiring diagram I crimped one as a test and could not pull it apart, no matter how hard I tried. I guess $10 crimpers must be better than the $100 version with seperate dies. I did buy the kit instead of just the box because I was unsure if the box only version would come with the seals. The fuses are super cheap and flimsy. I probably will not use them since they are just normal automotive fuses. The relays seem ok, I will use them if they work. I plan on adding a few more pictures once I get everything installed. I do not like the metal mounting brackets so made a flush mount spacer for the wiring out of some expanded PVC and a CNC router. But that was just because of aesthetics, I'm sure sure the included brackets would have worked as intended. A few reviews mentioned the cover breaking, I put it on and took it off a few times and haven't had any problems, so fingers crossed I won't have the same issues. Overall I think this is going to be a great upgrade to an old truck that didn't use relays for anything. ... show more

  • Shave the locking tabs and be ready for lots of crimping
Size: Kit
I like the end product; but the right crimper would have made it easier. I just bit the bullet and used my Klein Multi Tool Wire Stripper, Wire Cutters, Crimper; I didnt need the water proofing to the box since it mounted under my dash on my 47 Intl PU, hence the terminals and bus bars. I did it this way to pull out the whole unit if i ever needed to repair or make changes. Plus it keeps my engine bay clean. One other thing I did do was shave the locking tabs with a box cutter to make it easier to remove the cover. I did this to avoid what i read in a lot of other reviews that said cited busted tabs. Like the product.---Its a lock to be used in next project ... show more

  • Connectors not for same gauge wire
Size: Kit
The actual box itself is top notch. Yes it is time consuming, but it’s excellent. One downfall The crimp ends for the fuse connectors and the crimp ends for the relay connectors are not the same. I was able to use 12g wire on the fuses(which my application needs) but on the relays, the connector won’t crimp good and Eve wire pulls out. I’ve been crimping wires for years and I’m using a $100+ crimp tool with the right f type die and they just don’t grab good. I wish the spades came with two different sizes. On most relays your trigger should be a lower gauges than your load anyways so it would only make sense to have connectors that can be used for 12g and others for 20g Cheap fix, and my only complaint. ... show more

I don't believe the media lies, but I can see the usage. Item has good seal and the electricity flows.

  • Very good design
Size: Box Only
I used this to build a new fuse box for a 1967 Ford dump truck. Very good build quality on the box and some of the details like including extra crimp connectors and seals was very nice for if I messed up. The crimp connectors are nice and solid when using the crimping tool - I still soldered the connections after crimping but it felt solid enough that I probably didn't have to. As well the seals install nice and tight into the holes, although I'm a little concerned about the waterproofing of the 16ga wires, there seems to be a little bit of movement that isn't present in the 14ga and larger wires. It should be good enough though, I'm not planning on using the truck as a boat after all! To the downsides, the lid of the box is a little challenging to get off - I get why they have extra clips for a good top seal, but it is hard to push both on one side in to release the lid. As well it would be nice if there was a back case or cover to keep the wires contained - I'm going to try 3d printing one to make sure the wires don't ever rub against the cab wall or get out enough to get snagged. Final notes: Plan your fusebox before stripping your first wire and have the proper crimp tool. I had a full plan, including what every single spot in the fusebox connected to, and it made wiring it a breeze. Also, a label maker to print cable tags is a huge headache preventer if you don't have enough wire colors for each circuit to have a different color. ... show more
