  • Nicest relay box I have ever seen
Size: Kit
Short of a custom aluminum or metal panel, this is the nicest relay box I have ever used. True Mods, I am impressed. For $30, you get everything and then some. The ABS plastic molded box is extremely rugged. No part of it is flimsy, including the lid. Everything is sealed with silicone seals that fit just tight enough. The fuses are name brand Litelfuse, and you get 12 of them. The Bosch style relays are rated 30/40A. The plated terminals are plenty sturdy. I am excited to put it to use. I highly recommend. ... show more

  • Seems very good quality
Size: Kit w/ Harness
Bought this to add future expansion of accessories on our Yamaha Wolverine. Probably should have gone with a four relay block since some of the accessories already have all the wiring included. Did find space for it under the hood where a factory accessory on a higher trim level would go. This is a big chunk of equipment to find space for. You may find it easier to locate individual relays fed from a fused distribution block so you have smaller pieces to find homes for. I like the convenience of heavy gauge wires already sealed into the box but this also means that any wire not long enough needs an extension spliced to it. If you bought the build it yourself kit, you could have continuous wire from block to accessory but also would need a good crimping tool to do it right. That being said, this looks like a great piece of kit and I think it will serve me well. Color coding may not be what you expect and likely won't match the vehicle so make sure you take note of every wire color and function coming out of the pre-wired kits. Another reason that the build it yourself kit could be really nice. ... show more

  • 1967 f100 relay upgrade
Size: Kit
I bought this to upgrade a Ford f100. I am in the process of adding relays for a dual electric fan setup and headlight relays. Right now I only will be using 4 out of the 6 available fuses and relays. I was a little worried when I read the review by someone saying that they had a hundred dollar crimper and something called f dies that they couldn't get to crimp the terminals properly. I decided to risk it and try it anyway. I have a crimper I bought on sale for 9.99 at my local big box store (the crimper in the photo). After drawing out my wiring diagram I crimped one as a test and could not pull it apart, no matter how hard I tried. I guess $10 crimpers must be better than the $100 version with seperate dies. I did buy the kit instead of just the box because I was unsure if the box only version would come with the seals. The fuses are super cheap and flimsy. I probably will not use them since they are just normal automotive fuses. The relays seem ok, I will use them if they work. I plan on adding a few more pictures once I get everything installed. I do not like the metal mounting brackets so made a flush mount spacer for the wiring out of some expanded PVC and a CNC router. But that was just because of aesthetics, I'm sure sure the included brackets would have worked as intended. A few reviews mentioned the cover breaking, I put it on and took it off a few times and haven't had any problems, so fingers crossed I won't have the same issues. Overall I think this is going to be a great upgrade to an old truck that didn't use relays for anything. Update: I do intend on adding a few more pictures of the completed installation, unfortunately I ran out of warm weather and now the old truck is tucked safely away in the barn until spring. Once it warms up I will post more pictures. But I am still completely impressed with the relay block, from my original post in June until the weather turned ugly in December I have had no problems with anything I wired through the block. ... show more

  • Impressed!
Size: Kit
I bought a kit since I prefer to solder connectors, and I wanted to use some heavier gauge wire on a couple of the power and load sides. I also didn't need access to any of the normally closed connections. The kit came with everything except the wire, and included some spares for just about everything. A collection of fuses.were also included. The box is rugged and well made. The seals all around are good quality, and the wire holes are closed before punching a wire through. The relay bottom seals are properly sized for 16 gauge switch wires, and 14 gauge power wires. And the fuse seals are for 14 gauge. The relays can be wired for normally open, or normally closed (or both). It took several evenings to get everything soldered and wired neatly. I recommend the pre-wired version if you're not patient, comfortable with wiring, or if you don't have the tools. And considering the wire alone will cost $20, the pre-wired kit amounts to free labor. Overall, this is a very good quality kit with everything but the wire included. ... show more

  • Better than expected by far!
Size: Kit
To be honest, I didn't expect much considering where I'm buying this from, but I'll have to eat crow. This thing is MUCH nicer than I expected! The rubber seals are heavy duty rubber of higher quality than you'd get with typical name brand Delphi connectors. The connectors are of average quality, maybe a small step cheaper than name brand ones, but plenty useable, even for higher end builds. The case on this is thick! I was floored with how heavy the package was. Most times the stuff is CCA and paper thin casings. I was able to use my own connectors (cause I had them already). I wired up this block with several 10 gage (AWG) primary wires without issue. My only wish for this is a better stand off setup and an extra 6 fuses. (mine is 6 relays, 6 fuses) I have to add a supplementary fuse block to this to meet my needs. My fault, I should have planned ahead a bit better, ah well. I'll be buying a couple more just to have on hand for future projects! ... show more

  • Not really that good
Size: Kit
So this is a neat little package that comes with all the parts. The problem I had is that it's not really suitable for anything that needs a lot of power- like a fuel pump. The connectors are only good for at most 16-14 AWG, and the connectors aren't up to the task even then. They are cheap, and the metripak connectors won't fit into the body. For light duty accessories, it's a decent product. Otherwise, it will end up on the shelf. ... show more
