    • Cleans, add some vinegar to it to boost the cleaning

I dumped a 1/2 cup of cleaning (not cooking) vinegar in the tub of my Samsung front loader, unwrapped and added two of these. Don’t add bleach to these tablets, as bleach and other cleaners can cause toxic fumes. The addition of vinegar seemed to cause no fumes. This product helps a lot because without taking the entire drum mechanism apart, it’s impossible to get under the seal and the drum. Now for my rant: If you get a Samsung washer, they are high maintenance and a headache IMO. I have to drain the outlet hose and screen trap every wash and rinse and air dry the detergent tray or it smells like old slimy flower vase water. The only thing I like is the cleaning power is good but maintenance is annoying. I also like the tub cleaner setting, it goes for an hour and a half. I was spoiled by my old German-made Kenmore that lasted for nearly 20 years. I inherited this one from the former homeowner (it was moldy and absolutely disgusting and I’m surprised I got it as clean as it is now), so am using it until it dies but I’ll buy a Whirlpool or Maytag next time. ... show more

I've only used this twice and each time I have been extremely satisfied. It removes all smells from my washing machine. They are small and they work well. I use them inside the machine as well as in the detergent cartridge. I like to put one in the machine and one in the laundry cartridge to ensure the entire machine is cleaned. My first reaction when I ordered my front loading washing machine was why in the world do I need to clean the washing machine? I did everything the manufacturer suggested, but I didn't see why I needed to buy a product to clean the washing machine and thought it was a cash grab.
