After loosing the key to the lock I was unable to lock the box so I bought this replacement lock and fit perfectly. Took about 5 minutes total to install with a pair of pliers and that’s it. Bought to replace lock mechanism on truck tool box that has since lost its keys. The worst part of the installation was the removal of the old lock... Once that was taken care of the new lock easily slipped into place and was tightened down. Works perfectly. Side thought, my bar was just slightly too short to provide a tight locking feel, but it holds, the handle just moves a little too much for my liking. Not necessarily a product issue, more that I was unable to find a perfect replacement. I threw away the old lock before the idea hit me to drill the rivet out of the old lock and put the bar from it on the new lock cylinder. My bad. Measure twice and all that... ... show more
