  • Built solid and well
I wasn't sure what to expect with this inexpensive stand, but I'm not at all disappointed. The ring seems to be made from solid cast iron, the legs appear to be steel. The legs screen in cleanly and solidly to the ring, there was no problem with burs, bad threads, nor any issues with them being loose once screwed in. The mesh is durable. Got this for my son's chemistry set/hobby, and am not disappointed in the least ... show more

  • Nice!
Size: 6"
Nice, easy to assemble/disassemble, and handy dandy for getting underneath pieces when soldering! Just be sure you have a strong enough torch, or there's such a great heat sink created using the tripod that the solder won't flow XD But the tripod itself is great and shipped very quickly. Thank you!

  • Just buy it.
Size: 6"
I was a little hesitant to purchase because some reviews said the screen melted under high heat, and I’m a silversmith so this needed to be able to handle a lot of high heat from a torch. It works perfectly. It is scorched after a few uses, because hello, that’s what happens to metal when it gets heated. The screen has no bowing where I’ve consistently heated or anything. Just a little scorched. It’s also really heavy so even if I bump it while working it doesn’t even wobble. Overall worth the money. ... show more

  • Very sturdy
Size: 6"
Very pleased with this item, though you might have to hold your mouth just right as you assemble the legs. They've got to be at just the correct angle to screw together easily. That's not a bad thing, just a point of note. Very happy with this purchase.

  • Heavyweight tripod that is not easily tipped over. I'm pleased!
Tripod with Mesh Screen, 6 Inches Dabbling in the art of enameling, I knew it was finally time to purchase a 6" tripod to make the process easier. I opted for this one based on the positive reviews, and am quite pleased. As others with verified purchases have indicated, the box has seen better days, but provided nothing fell out during shipment, it should be fine. I am most impressed with the weight of the tripod. Prior to feeling it with my own hands, I was worried it might be lightweight, and tip over with an accidental bump of the legs. Not so, you would have to really be rough and careless to tip it over. Roomy legs are far apart enough that various sized butane or propane torches will fit underneath. Thank you! I'm pleased! ... show more

  • Love it
So versatile for enameling and soldering pieces. Lets you access the item from below and above, this is especially great with enameling so you do not blow the product off your piece with the torch. You can work from below and ensure everything is in it's place.

  • A really tough, durable product
I use both butane and propane torches on this platform. The butane is minor league compared to the propane torch and I heat the hell out of the mesh and base when working on some pieces. I heat it up a lot every day several times. The mesh does not melt or warp and the tripod shows no signs of use at all. It is a great value. ... show more
