Description

At TreeWorks Chimes, we specialize in crafting exceptional, high-quality American made percussion instruments from our small shop in Nashville, Tennessee using locally sourced materials. TreeWorks triangles are handmade in our shop using an in-house custom heat treated carbon steel alloy. Our triangles are then hand-bent to ensure the clearest tone possible with well- balanced frequencies. This 4” Professional Studio-grade Triangle with 5/16” thick alloy is extraordinarily versatile and can be used in any musical setting. Overtones are bright, shimmering and complex, and its attack is followed by a long sustain. Its wide dynamic range projects through large ensembles when played forte (hard), or effortlessly transition to delicate passages simply by adjusting your playing technique. It comes with a full-size professional stainless steel triangle beater/striker and wooden holder featuring a hand-rubbed oil finish. The beater is designed to create a sparkling, pure tone that fills the room when the triangle is struck. A thin satin chrome finish is used on the triangle in order to maximize the response and clarity. This combination of material and craftsmanship yields a bright, shimmering response with a full spectrum of complex overtones and an outstanding sustain. This triangle is vital for any percussion collection, whether you are playing orchestral passages or modern two-handed Latin riffs. Made in Nashville, Tennessee, U.S.A.

  • Worth twice the price
Size: 4-Inch
I play in a symphonic band. I bought this for practice at home, but it is good enough to use in concert. It has loads of overtones, and sounds great!

  • Perfect!
Size: 5-Inch
As a band teacher, I typically have other avenues of buying a product of this sort. However, I needed this in a pinch of time and it worked exactly for what we needed it for. Shipped very fast just in time for our concert. also, this is a brand I typically buy for the good quality.

  • It's a dinner bell, not a symphonic triangle. Do not support this bad behavior.
Size: 4-Inch
Why are there so many dinner alarm triangles claiming to be professional symphonic triangles? This has a distinctive "CLANK" just like all steel rod bent into a triangle. The "Alfred Able"? I'm not sure about his first name. When I was a percussionist, all that I ever saw claiming to be professional triangles we these Able triangles. Do you know why the ends are machined down to a smaller diameter? There's a math formula for pitch, given the strength of the material, number of corners supporting that side and it' s weight but in short, it's machined on the ends because it's being held out with one corner, half the stiffness of 2. But it's complex. The machined ends take the "CLANK" out. Well, this has no machined ends. It's not made if brass, and it clanks. If you hit the middle of the rod section, you can almost get away from the clank but the lower frequencies are still there. My advice is to not buy any of the dumb dinner alarm triangles because they only make noise. The Able chrome plated brass with carefully machined ends are what you're hearing on any symphonic or orchestral triangle recording or performance. Are kids using these rods these days to save money? That's just sad. The real triangles make the sweetest high pitch that rings out loud and clearer than a bell. It's sides are tuned up to match into a chorus of high pitched singing "Ting, Ting, Ting". Don't get this or anything like it. Mine went into the recycle bin. I went somewhere else and bought a real triangle with a clip holder and a variety of fine beater made of brass because brass is a metal with strange properties I should understand but don't really. It's used in many musical bells and Buddhist bowls and Christmas bells, even Mormon Tabernacle bells. It's hard but it machines easily and that's what I don't understand. I started reading an article on it written a hundred years ago and it's so complex, you don't want to know. Every step of the process, the temperature, the duration it stays at that temperature and OMG, it's something. But people go to all that trouble because only brass can sound like that. Ask any drummer if there's a replacement for Zyljian cymbals. Sure there are other brands, Paste, Sybian , my spelling is off but the short of it is no, there's no substitute for real Zyljian cymbals because their family has held their trade secrets for hundreds of years. Anyway, making a beautiful sound takes more than a steel bar and a bending machine. Don't get these unless you're actually looking for a dinner bell. Never play this onstage. I bought the 4 inch thinking its small size would give it the high pitch. No it doesn't. That's why I brought up brass. Anyway folks. Don't get these. It's an ugly sound. Find the ones I described. They've been around for a long time. I'm going to have to Google that guy Able, from the Boston philharmonic because he must have lived a long time ago and he must have gone through a lot of brass before getting it right. A really bright guy we must give our thanks to when that sound moves you. Those are brilliant. These bent steel rods are dumb. I don't recommend them. They give the instrument a bad name. ... show more

  • Not the greatest sound, but not bad for the price
Size: 5-Inch
I am a school band director and bought this triangle because distance learning doesn't work when you have 3 bands and only 2 triangles. Upon arrival, I tried it out. The sound is a little too tinny to compete with the truly professional triangles out there, but it's not terrible. The beater works just fine... not sure why someone said it has its own sound. Maybe it's because they triangle plays various overtones that last different lengths. The best part of this package is the holder. So much better than the shoe string and chip clip that is all too common. I might even buy one more triangle just for that fancy looking, functional holder. I wouldn't add this to any professional's arsenal, but it's a good budget triangle if you're not interested in investing a lot of money for a project... or your most entry level band. ... show more

  • Works out great

Haven't bought this instrument in a long time. Needed something with a high clear tone. This is capable of a wide range of tones. I would have given it 5 stars but for the fact I had to purchase a larger size of strikers.

  • This thing owns me!
Size: 6-Inch
Beautiful instrument all around. 100 % love it. You could easily spend $100 and take home a much lesser triangle. Quality. Price. Made in the U.S.A. No Brainer in my opinion. My dog Floyd said his lacked meaty flavor.

  • Great Triangle - Highly recommended
Size: 6-Inch
This is a really nice triangle! It will last forever, I'm sure. It's got a nice mid-pitched ring. Not too deep like a classical triangle and not tiny and trebly like I've found in sample kits on a computer or drum machine. Rich mid-pitched is the best description I can give. This is well suited for pop, latin, dance etc... ... show more
