Nice and shiny, the actual color is a deep black just like the picture, no peeling or anything. not silk soft but still very smooth. they aren't very slippery but the pillows might slip if not directly against a flat surface

My pillows wouldn't stay on the bed. It would be weird feeling to move around too. They were slightly cooler but not enough to make me keep using them. These sheets are great, but the color is not grey. The color is a dark sage green. I bought these same sheets in a different size a couple of years ago and they have been great. The color is a true dark grey, very comfortable with no problems since buying them. This is the reason I ordered the same brand from the same seller when I got a different size bed.
