  • Top performer
Style: 2K
I am impressed with this camera. It was easy to mount, easy to setup, very good resolution, super night vision, sensitive motion detection, ultra low price, and Compatibly with Alexa. The iOS app works as good as any I’ve seen, pan and tilt could be smother but for the price I can deal with it. I highly recommend this camera. Wish I had bought more. ... show more

  • Hard to beat for price.
Style: 2K
There’s 1 downside to WiFi cameras. Your internet speed has to include enough upload gbps per camera for optimal results. Example 10 gbps is enough for 3-4 cameras unless you’re uploading something at the same time. Yes you can run 8-10 cameras but you’ll see delays, buffering and be disappointed in speeds. Proper upload speeds is vital so you can run your cameras and other uploading data (basically sending, example : to cloud, to another devices to private storage). If you use cameras for live viewing and no saving video upload speeds aren’t important. That said, these Tapo ptz cameras work good, they move properly, app is intuitive, storage is cheap $10 for 10 cameras for 30 days, they’re a TP-Link products so it’s amazing like everything they make. I see TP-link to electronics as I do 3m to adhesives. Simply works. These cameras are 2k so zooming is ok but they don’t actually zoom it’s an in picture zoom. The cord is 2 piece so you can put attached side through a wall and connect adapter side in a plug inside but not have to make a huge hole. 3/8” hole is all you need. Entire unit is compact and has 4 holes in mounting plate to easily with a template to mark for plastic anchors or pre-drill hard surfaces. TP-link start up is by far the easiest I’ve seen and I’m a fan. 1 caveat I have is, when volume is on there’s no was to avoid hearing the motor turn the camera. These are NOT for high security areas or places subject to damage, mounting plate and body are plastic but you should know that when purchasing anyway. I would not hesitate at all to buy TP-link cameras or recommend to them to my own family and friends. ... show more

  • The camera and app are great so far.
Style: 2K QHD + Color Night Vision
Just had professional electricians install my cameras (3) and I purchased the flood light camera for the back yard. This camera has electric outlet and my electricians installed ethernet wire. I originally thought they were hardwired. You also need a SD micro disk for each camera. Set up was easy with app. You have to create a linked account, initialize each disk and update firmware. The camera was ready for use. The camera is clear and in color. The night vision is so clear and in color. It works with Alexa and now I feel like detective gadget! I love it! ... show more

  • Easy to Install, Great Quality, Needs to be kept close to Internet box
Style: 2K
This is great, we upgraded from another camera and so far the quality has been great with this camera. It catches everything with motion detection, even the rain during a storm. Bought on sale, for the price the camera is perfect considering it's features such as setting specific locations that you may want to look at with the press of a button. It also has a patrol mode which follows movement it sees. At night the quality of the picture is just as good as during the day, nearly making out facial features from across the street. Our only gripe is that it sometimes has a hard time connecting to the Internet after an outage and doesn't like connecting to Internet extension box, has to be manually connected instead of automatically. There's almost no delay in checking the camera using Cellular Data if you are away from the house. There's also a privacy mode if you are planning a surprise that you don't want anyone else with access to see. If your on the fence about upgrading or buying one of these in general it's my opinion that this is a decent investment for the price. There are more expensive cameras that do way less with worse quality. We have the white camera, not sure if it comes in any other color honestly. ... show more

  • Seems durable, worked in all weather so far
Style: 2K QHD + Color Night Vision
Had it for about 5 weeks. Was fairly easy to install though you really do need two people. I taped it up temporarily so I could drill it into the soffit myself. Has survived through a couple of heavy rainstorms. I bought it to cover my driveway and front yard while I'm away. The camera and the software have done a good job notifying me of activity while I'm away in another state for days at a time. [Updated after 5 weeks] One confusing thing that has happened is that at first the software would identify cars and people with blue boxes labeled around them. This has stopped happening. The notifications do say what kind of motion it thinks it sees, but there is no blue box or label in the replay. I've rebooted the camera and changed the sensitivity settings up and down to test and they have not come back. Haven't found anything online about this. Edit: the setting is Tags On. If this is switched off then the tags don't appear. ... show more

  • Works well, isn't too expensive
Style: 2K
I have several brands of security cameras running around my house. This one is my favorite because the pictures are good, sound is good, and it is responsive to the controls when moving it around. One area it may lack however is that it has went a little crazy on us over the winter. The motion alarm (that I have shut off - because why?) will randomly go off for HOURS until I use the app, shut the motion alarm back off and it is fine again until the next update. Then it is crazy motion alarm time again. I don't know why it does this, but it does. I did not opt in for the cloud service they offer, I figure I am opening enough of my life to the company without also storing my recordings on their servers. I use a 256GB SD card, and it has worked perfectly. If it goes on sale again, I will buy one for the other corner of my house (Mine is tucked under the eave behind the gutter so it is always dry, shaded, clean, and WAY too high to fuss with). ... show more

  • Finally got some that work
Style: 2K QHD + Color Night Vision
This was my 3rd set of security cams I bought. The 1st ones would not connect to my wifi, i got 1 set up on the second batch and the others would not even power up. I bought 3 of these and 1 of their indoor cams. All 4 were super easy to set up and all 4 work perfectly. I'm 72 years old and i got these completely set up to my phone in 2 minutes a piece. Just plug it in, wait for the app to find it, put in your wifi password & put sd card in and go mount it. The picture quality is crystal clear day and night. These are the ones to buy hands down. I here they have even better ones coming out this year so keep an eye out. ... show more
