Provides an almost identical replacement to my 1995 Old Town Penobscot 16 canoe. The depth of the new replacement seats are about 3/8ths shorter than the original seats. However they still could be drilled to fit fine. My concerns were that the drilled holes are now closer to the edge of the boards. It seemed that wherever I looked other replacements seem to be this shorter depth as well. Possibly newer Old Town canoes have shorter depths to all their seats now. So this would not be an issue with newer canoes. ... show more

These seats are sturdy, look correct, no black strapping, and the wood cross bars are wide enough to allow positioning tomatch existing holes in the inwales, installation just require accurate measure, careful sawing, and rust proof bolts. Just what I needed to replace the rear cane seat on the Old Town Penobscott 16. Just use the old seat as a template and cut this one to the correct width.

The quality of these seats match the originals. Modifying them to fit properly was simple...4 saw cuts and 4 holes drilled. Overall I'm very happy.
