  • Wow, crazy what you can get for 30.00 these days
Style: Red Switch
This keyboard is great. I had already concluded that 75% was my new favorite layout and to find a mechanical 75% board for 30.00 is just bonkers. The board feel pretty solid and the key actuations are perfect. There are only two minor things I don't like about this board, that might mean nothing to you. 1. I'd prefer white if only one backlight color. 2. I'd prefer the cable exit on the opposite end of the board. Both minor gripes, particularly when considering the low, low price. ... show more

  • Coolest Keyboard
Style: Red Switch
I've never liked the idea of a <100% keyboard, I grew up using the numpad so having to use the 1-0 keys feels less efficient. However, having this little guy for when I'm away from home has been really nice. It's small enough to use my kb/m (keyboard and mouse) on one of those lap cushion things for laptops. The numpad of a full size kb would just be in the way. So I like it for that. I have always wanted to try swapping keycaps to give my kb a little personal touch to it and I've had a set for a good while now, just didn't have a compatible kb to use them with. The LED backing is really nice and fluid. It doesn't distract but it's fun to get lost staring at them. There might be a driver or app you can get to customize the lighting a bit but I like the default so I haven't looked into it. My favorite feature would definitely be that you can disconnect it from it's cord, if you ever have this set up at a fixed spot on a desk or something, it'll be easy to unplug it for the occasional compressed air sweep to clean the kb away from your work space. ... show more

  • A good typing experience for a fair price.
Style: Red Switch
I've been using this TMKB keyboard for several days now, and I have to say, for the price, it's been a really nice keyboard to type on. I have plenty of options to choose from and several keyboards with a similar actuation, but there's something about this one that works well for me. Oftentimes, I find the red switch a bit too sensitive, leading to too many mistakes. However, that's not as much the case here. Don't get me wrong—I still make plenty of mistakes—but my speed and accuracy don't feel as hampered by the layout or switches of this board. The keys also have good spacing, and everything feels nice and sturdy. Nothing about this keyboard feels particularly cheap, despite the affordable price point. While it doesn't have many extra bells or whistles, I think that at under $30, it's a pretty solid value. That said, it's not entirely perfect. For some reason, despite being well-labeled, I really don't like the location of the function keys. This is personal, and I honestly can't even explain why; they just don't make sense in my mind, I guess. Thankfully, they are reprogrammable via software, but frankly, I'm more of a plug-and-play kind of guy. Another subjective issue for me is the sound. As much as I enjoy the feel of this board, I find the "clacky" feedback obnoxiously loud and grating after a while. This doesn't really bother me when using it for gaming or browsing the web, but for extended typing, I can't stand it. If I had to sit next to someone using this keyboard in an office setting, I would not be a friendly neighbor. Despite feeling that the value of this keyboard is fair as it is, I do think there would've been room to include a cheap gasket. All in all, I genuinely think this is worth a buy for someone who wants a compact keyboard with just enough customization and nothing extra, all for a reasonable price—bonus if loud and clacky is your jam. I should also mention that the ice-blue backlighting is easy on the eyes, and the keycaps have excellent backlight visibility. The function icons, however, do get lost in dimly lit rooms. A minor quibble, though, and nothing to be deterred by. If you're interested in this particular keyboard, it's easy to recommend. If you can nab it on sale, I'd absolutely buy it with confidence. ... show more

  • Great entry level mechanical keyboard
Style: Red Switch
I picked this up as a spare and to play around with a different switch type than I normally use. After using it for a few months I definitely see the appeal of red switches. They still "feel" nicer than membrane switches, but they're close to completely silent and without the bump that my blue setup has. Personally, for actual writing I like the bump, but for gaming I think I agree with the majority that the bumpless experience is smoother. The LED settings are fine. There's some variety there for folks who like flashing colors. Again though, its priced at an introductory level so maybe don't go into it expecting a crazy lightshow. ... show more

I like this keyboard for the size, comfort, style, and functionality. It's not super big and bulky which was nice for desk space. I love the backlit keys and lights on it. Easy to remove keys and clean. Super easy to learn and use. Easy to plug in and connect to computer.
