I bought this for my boss who is an Elementary school principal. We try to have a calm, relaxing atmosphere in the Main Office not only for the students, but also the adults. My boss' office is very orderly and also nicely decorated. I was originally going to get him a Zen garden, but most of the stuff in our office is kid-friendly, and with his OCD, I knew any sand on his desk would drive him nuts. I stumbled across this and thought it would fit with our decor, but also be relaxing and kid-friendly. This fit the bill and then some! At one point after I gave it to him, he was on a zoom with all the other administrators in the district and was showing it off. He really loved it. As he would talk on the phone, he would flip it and watch the sand fall. Then call me in to see what new design was made. Lol It's become a joke now that whenever anyone enters his office, they rotate the frame. I am extremely happy with how beautiful this is. Love the idea, still having to tilt to get sand falling, because the bubbles are too many. Instructions talk about the air bubbles and how to fix with needle tool, but there's no tool included. It's still very pretty, and does fall if I mess with it gor awhile.

This is nice to put up on a shelf out of reach of anyone - especially kids. It is really pretty and calming but it is fragile. Mine shattered when it fell from less than 2.5 feet. One it breaks, it’s ruined. If I had known, I would have found something cheaper.

This thing is so cool! The trick is you have to flip it all at once and have a bunch of bubbles so the sand has somewhere to fall, sometimes I quickly give it a shake to encourage the sand to keep falling. Everyone always enjoyed the sandscapes I had “X “years ago. Now I’m the grandparent and hoping to share the fun with my grandchildren. These arrived in time, safe and snug in their wrapping and fully operational. Yea! Everything seems to work about the same, patience is best and remember, you need to break it in( the more it’s used, the faster it is, or smoother). I am really enjoying the round design( my previous ones were oval & this appears a better more fluid design ) Am looking forward to Christmas morning and many other days of ohhhhs and aaaahhhhs And” come look at THIS one…” This is fantastic for multiples of ages - but definitely for the dementia patient ( that are sometimes hard to buy for) These are addicting and soothing ~ very enjoyable and can be used individually or in a family setting ( beware rivalry) I’m hoping these have a reasonable amount of use- with that caveat: highly recommended ... show more

The item color and size came as described, but the water in it was already so low that when you would turn it the sand would cascade down the way it is supposed to. As if it sat too long and the water started to evaporate. Returning item.
