The length was great for summer and in the winter it can be worn with leggings. The material was okay but did pill slightly only where my seatbelt rubbed across it while in the car during the day. For the price and quality I'd say I could get one good season out of it and then the next I'd wear it around the house or as a swimsuit cover up. This dress was definitely a good buy for me. I bought it to have some pictures done with my daughter so I needed it to be modest. I ordered a size up and the sleeves were still a little snug but overall it was a very flattering dress. I love this dress! I am 5 ft and 170 pounds and the L fit me perfectly. It doesn't cling anywhere, it is flowy but not billowy so that I retain some shape / curve. I love the length of the sleeves (they come to about 2 inches above my elbow) because its more professional. This is a very loose and comfortable dress. I am 60 years old and weigh 145 lbs, 5 ft 6 in. tall. I got the Large. It is soft and comfortable for hot weather. I wore a scarf tied around my neck and draped lengthwise to add some contrast. The dress is very casual and if I were younger and thinner, it could look a bit dressy but on and old lady it won't look dressy. I wear it with flats and I enjoy the flouncy dress.
