Been wanting to try this for the longest but I've read a lot of pro and con reviews. I'm happy that I finally did. As with any coffee, liking it depends on what you expect from the strength, flavor, and "notes". The short take on this is that it's tasty (if brewed right), strong enough for medium-to-dark roast lovers, and VERY affordable. STRENGTH: Depends on the water-to-coffee ratio and your machine. I'm using a good drip machine (Ninja) that lets me choose how I want my coffee by size and brew strength. I only make a couple of cups at a time & I choose to use the "rich brew" drip on my machine. I like a strong brew because I use cream so I add a couple of heaping tablespoons (instead of the recommended "level" tbls.) to 2 6-ounce measures of water. With my machine brewing "rich" this is perfect. It's strong but not bitter and balances out with the cream, My neighbor likes a weaker brew of dark roast because she takes her coffee black so I use 2 level tablespoons of coffee to 3 6-ounce measures of water. She liked it and said that there was no bitter or biting aftertaste. FLAVOR & NOTES: This strikes me as a mellow-to-full kind of brew. I'm no coffee or flavor expert but this is good if you get the brew right. I do get a really - REALLY - faint nutty taste and a tiny bit of the dark chocolate that I like. But that is ONLY if I use enough coffee to water. Compared to Gevalia's Dark Gold Roast, this needs more coffee to get the flavor right but at least more coffee does not give a burnt taste. This blends well with other coffee I have. I find that if I want, I can add a tablespoon of the pricier stuff in with 2 tablespoons of this and feel luxurious without going broke! LOL If you know a "coffee snob" who likes a medium-to-dark roast, you could maybe make them happy by brewing this stronger or weaker. Again, the best thing is this does not give a bitter or burnt taste. Right now, I am using Jim's Sweet Love and I love that. I plan to save money but either blending that with this one - or alternating. This one is MUCH more affordable. VALUE: For someone like me that makes at least 6 to 8 cups of coffee each day, this is a really good value-to-flavor. I've been switching from coffee to coffee, trying to find a dark roast I like (with a dark chocolate note) and many are too expensive for me. I was using the Gevalia but it's hard to find lately & is pricey for me. I plan to get this on a more frequent Subscribe & Save to alternate with a less-frequent S&S of either Jim's or some other brand. OVERALL: I am going to subscribe to this - for the flavor and the value. I can afford a monthly buy of this while treating myself every few months to one of the pricier blends. ... show more

I used to buy only this brand and it was the only take out coffee I'd drink. I hadn't had any in years cuz it's not a west coast thing. I ordered a bag hoping it hadn't changed in the 5 years since I'd had some and it was magical! So rich, great coffee flavor no matter how strong you make it. If you haven't tried Tim Hortons in Canada, then all I can say is.... you have to. Tim's is like a WAAAYY better version of that Seattle Coffee shop, better coffee and better employees with a great menu. Tim's coffee is smooth and smells like the best!!

I tried this coffee brand on a trip to Victoria, Canada. Delicious 😋. Much better than SB, imo. Finely ground, lovely aroma while it's brewing. Very tasty and seems less acidic than the usual suspect brands. I like it very much. FYI- I use a percolating coffee maker. A wee bit pricey, but not enough to deter me from buying it. ... show more
