  • It is What Tilta Says: an "Aluminum Adjustable Accessory Mounting Plate" to Add Real Estate.
I’ve been a fan of Tilta for some time now and own a number of their products; if I need an accessory, I’ll typically look to them first. I have come to trust not only their commitment to the photo/video industry, but to the quality of both their form/function design aesthetic and the premium-quality fabrication of their products. The Tilta Adjustable Accessory Mounting Plate lives up to those attributes I expect from Tilta. As other reviewers have asserted, and to which I concur, there are any number of uses for this adjustable mounting plate; basically, adding real estate to whatever you attach it. It can be mounted in either of two ways, by mounting the plate to something, then an accessory to the adjustable arm, or mounting the adjustable arm to something, then an accessory to the plate. Besides its ability to swivel, the adjustable arm, that is attached to a NATO rail the length of the plate, can be positioned anywhere along that length. The NATO rail has quick release buttons so the arm can be slid off the plate, thereby allowing the user to attach the plate, with an accessory NATO rail. Furthermore, the NATO rail can be removed from the plate. Essentially, as an aggregate, the Adjustable Mounting Plate is comprised of three discrete parts: the cheese plate, the adjustable arm and the NATO rail, all of which can used together, separately, or in preferred combination. The plate itself has plenty of 1/4" and 3/8” threads, along with channels on each side for mounting sliding accessories. One aspect of the Adjustable Mounting Plates design continues to baffle me: why are there registration pins on either side of the swivel arms 1/4” mounting screw? Tilta doesn’t mention these pins, nor show any pictures that include them, on the point-of-purchase page. As it is, these pins prevent the arm from being attached directly anywhere on my Tilta camera cage; the cage doesn’t have any 1/4” threads with holes that align with the pins on the arm. No doubt somewhere out there are accessories that include holes for the registration pins, or anti-torques pins if you will, but off the top of my head I can’t think of any I own. On the other hand, registration pins are a good idea to prevent mounted accessories from twisting, so why aren’t there holes for them on my Tilta camera cage? Who knows, perhaps these are mysteries too great to solve. Anyway, as it turns out, the registrations pins are threaded and removable; you can twist them out using a pair of pliers. But that being the case, why hasn’t Tilta provided slots in them for a flat head screw driver, for example, or any other means of conveniently extracting them. For my purposes, that is to attach the swivel arm to my camera cage, I had to remove one of the pins, allowing the remaining one to fit into a hole next to the 1/4" thread I’m using. No doubt there are those that have direct knowledge (Tilta might be one) of why those pins are there. In any event, the Tilta Adjustable Accessory Mounting Plate is consistent with Tiltas high-quality workmanship, adds adjustable real estate if needed, and is an “Aluminum Adjustable Accessory Mounting Plate.” ... show more

  • Super versatile cheese plate with tons of options...
I didn't post photos because frankly, other reviewers have posted great ones. This is exactly as described from the company but built with quality for the photographer and videographer in mind. It's really hard to keep your rig simple and you end up running out of mounting points for the items that you need. Mics, lights, transmitters, powerbanks, receivers, SSDs... there is only so many mounting options on a cage... Tilta has over engineered this small piece of gear to bring versatility to your rig. As seen in the photos, there are (8) 1/4-20 threaded holes, (4) 3/8-16 threaded holes, 2 slide through slots with a nato rail on the bottom. The articulating clamp slides along the nato rail or can be removed by depressing the quick release safety buttons on either side of the rail. You can detach the articulating clamp and attach it to the plate then clamp the whole assembly to a nato rail on your cage giving you the rest of the plate and the bottom nato rail for attachments... Now the locating pins on the articulating clamp... Not a lot of my equipment has /14-20 locating points... one of my cages has it on the very bottom where a tripod plate would go so that's kinda a no go unless I'm using a handle or grips and carrying the rig in which case... this would work perfect as a rear cheese plate for whatever. If you get this, and the locating pins are bumming you out, take a small pair of pliers and remove the locating pins from the clamp, problem solved. Tilta makes some great accessories and this one is no different. Super versatile, I can't imagine a configuration I would need where this plate wouldn't solve my frustrations. ... show more

  • Nice Plate but not super versatile.
While this build of this cheese plate is great quality, it seems to be built specifically to keep you from using it with anything else besides Tilta brand cages with their very specific NATO Rail system. I wish it could be modified to work with any cage, but the attachment has pins that would really allow for that. So even if you do own a Tilta NATO system, you're not going to be able to attach it to other cameras or a gimbal, making this a one-use pony ...not really something for a one-man-band filmmaker like myself. ... show more

  • Very versatile mounting plate
Tilta Aluminum Adjustable Accessory Mounting Plate comes in handy for my external hard drive attached to my camera. When not using the hdd, I am able to add a small battery pack powering the camera. This mounting plate is made with great material and feels smooth with no sharp edges. Another great product from Tilta. ... show more

  • Exceptional build quality in a versatile accessory.
Another phenomenal photographic accessory from Tilta - a company professional photographers trust. This adjustable mounting plate allows you to attach almost anything to your camera cage. It is super well designed and built with a precision you can only appreciate when you hold it in your hand and operate its controls. The built-in Nato rail makes it very versatile and don't worry about the alignment pins that extend out on either side of the ¼"-20 screw. If you don't need them (or they're in the way) with the set-up you have, you can easily remove them with a pair of pliers as they're simply threaded into the holes and there isn't any thread lock on them. ... show more

  • All the mount holes!
A great versatile addition to any rig - you can never have too many mounting options and this plate adds a ton at whatever angle your heart desires. Phenomenal quality as well, so you can feel safe knowing that whatever you attach to this will remain in place.

  • Built a lighter rig
I never understood the benefit of having a v-mount plate like this one before. Now that I have one I totally get it. My plate before had lots of UBS and DC power ports but that made the rig much more bulky, The new V-mount batteries are small and include ports right on the battery. This is a great way to reduce the size of your rig for more portable setups. It changed the way I build out now. ... show more

  • This cheese plate is awesome I haven’t seen one adjustable like this.
This cheese plate is adjustable in so many ways. It has unlimited ways to add to my rig in what ever set up I want to do. This is a sleek looking plate. Very sturdy.
