We recently purchased the TickTalk watch for our teenage son with special needs as an alternative to a traditional smartphone. This device has been nothing short of a lifesaver for our family! It perfectly bridges the gap between staying connected and maintaining focus without the distractions of internet access or social media—which are not allowed at school anyway. What We Love: 1. Ease of Setup and Use: From unboxing to setup, everything about the TickTalk watch is designed with simplicity in mind. It took mere minutes to get it fully operational, thanks to the detailed instructions and intuitive parent app. 2. Reliable GPS and Cellular Connectivity: The GPS accuracy is spot on, offering us peace of mind knowing exactly where our son is at all times. Cellular connectivity is reliable, ensuring texts and calls go through without a hitch. 3. Durable and Stylish Design: The watch is both sleek and rugged, standing up to the daily wear and tear of an active teenager.     • It's pretty good but location is always miles off

Pros: - Love the video call option! - Very good connectivity - Helpful notifications - Super easy to get activated - Able to monitor his messages from my phone Cons: - Tracking is not accurate at all! Even when at home connected to home network, the watch is always tracked miles away. I can't tell whether my son is at home or school because it tracks him close to the same phone tower. Completely useless unless knowing their city location is good enough for you. - You have to call and text through the app which is a bit of a hassle, but most importantly, it often causes delays in notifications when the app is not consistently updating - The band is too small (my regular-size 8 yo says it's too tight). I haven't been able to find options for a different band - His watch always defaults to use Wi-Fi calling. Not great if you're on the move and not tied to great internet connection. - Text messages are automatically blocked, even if they are from approved contacts (or me!). It seems the only way to communicate is through the app. ... show more

We have gone through a lot of different watches for our kids, and this is by far the best. Setup was easy and with the ability to customize tracking method (manual or auto), music quota (iHeart radio), activity tracker (step counter), etc. It also seems super strong and sturdy. I bought the watch for my 5yr old since we moved to a bigger city and it has been awesome! It was very easy to set up, the cell plans were surprisingly cheap, my daughter loves having a camera with her to take pictures with her friends at school. Being able to set alarms and reminders for her has been a game changer! There are a few complaints. We live near lake Michigan and there has been a few times (like 2-3) the the gps was wonky and I'm assuming maybe it was because of that. Not sure tho. My second complaint would be that it does get a little warm if she's really playing on it. It's not been warm enough to cause any pain or discomfort. Overall I'm very happy with it.
