I purchased the Think Tank TT836 lens case duo as I was having a hard time finding a good fit for my 70-200mm lens which is wider and shorter than the average lenses this size. My lens fits great in the Think Tank case with the tripod bracket attached. My only concern is that of all the lens cases I won, this one is the thinnest case, not padded very well. The whole reason I'm buying single lens cases is so I can toss them in a hiking backpack and not worry too much. This is a really cool case but the padding is SO thin. I'm going with the beefier BPAULL (think Chinese knockoff of Lowepro). Maybe it's right for your needs, but not mine. This one is going back. ... show more

I wanted the smallest lens case I could find to fit my Panasonic Full Frame 24-105mm lens in. This Think Tank lens case mostly fit that bill. The fit is so tight I do need to open it up vertically to get my lens in. That said, that is a great unique feature I never saw on any other lens case. My only negative is there is VERY little padding in this case so I'm not sure this will be the most protective case in the world. However it's a very nice unique lens case...just could use a bit more padding in my opinion...very well made, and looks great however. ... show more

This is beautifully made with many clever little features, but I would have preferred more padding. Might have kept it anyway but I returned it because: -- It doesn't have the attachment system to fit securely on the ThinkTank belt. It flops areound. -- Too wide for my Fujinon 80mm macro lens.

This fit the Fuji 100-400mm with hood reversed and has plenty of room for the tripod mount with a a quick release attached. Like it was made for it.

    • Fits Fujinon 100-400 -- Does just what I wanted it to do.

There are lens cases with more/thicker padding, but I wanted this case for when I carry the lens in a day pack or just over my shoulder. The two ways of getting into the bag are a nice feature. This bag fits the Fujinon (X-Mount) 100-400mm lens with the hood attached inverted -- and the tripod collar attached with a RRS ARCA extension attached.
