  • Surprisingly Comfy for 10yo
The material is surprisingly soft and comfy compared to organic disposable pads. It's a little thicker than disposable pads, but the softness and overall fit it great. The wings provide amazing coverage to stop leaking. Most effective compared to disposables with small sticky wings. Here's our story. Our 10yo started menses for the first time a few months ago. It was very scary for her, but not to worry, because I was here to save the day with over 35 years experience :). After educating her about the product options, she wanted to try disposable organic pads. After a few days of wearing the disposable pads, she complained about how they would bunch up in the back or sides, mainly because she's active and practices ballet 5 days/wk. The tape from the wings would stick to her, and she did not like the scratchy feeling. We tried 4 different organic brands from Natracare to Lola, and she said they all felt uncomfortable. Fast forward to her second cycle... just one week prior, we ordered these wonderful reusable pads. We received the "liners" for her last two days, and they worked out better than expected. The ultimate thing that our daughter says she loves about these pads is that they gives her "peace of mind" that she doesn't have to worry about getting anything messy, and so far this is true. Tips for How We Clean Our Reusable Pads: Buy a small bathroom plastic trash can with lid. We prefer one that has a pedal and a front tab on the lid, so that we can lift the lid easily with our hand or foot. Then fill it with 1/3 cold water, add 1/2 cup white distilled vinegar, spray or pour peroxide on the soiled part of the pad, fold the pad in half, with soil on the inside fold, and toss into the water/vinegar solution. Let soak all day in the plastic trash can, and either run a light wash at night, or in the morning. When ready to wash, place them in a laundry zipper bag. We wash in cold water, add no perfume/no dye detergent in the soap dispenser, white distilled vinegar in the softener compartment, and then add peroxide in the bleach compartment. We are a chemical free home! Please know that we have only washed two pads using this method, and do not know how well they will hold up over time, but so far so good! We look forward to trying the overnight pads, which are longer and a little thicker. ... show more

  • If this is your first set..
Make sure to grab a larger size. I thought these would be enough and I ended up needing more. Over all these are decent. What I dislike is the plastic buttons.. I think metal would last longer and less likely to break. I feel they are likely to break first if anything. And for the price I did feel a little regretful as you only get a few. But they are reusable so I guess in a way it pays off? .. after needing more I ended up going with another brand that was also organic with more bang for your buck and different size variety. ... show more

  • Great so far but not sure about how long!
I wanted a few reusable organic pads after I started to realize what a nightmare it was that disposable pads had all these harmful unnecessary chemicals in them that I did not want next to my most delicate areas! So after some digging I bought the overnight rael organic pads in the set of 3 for $33. I bought 2 sets, so that’s a total of 6 pads. Today was my first day using them as my period begun and I was ready to test them out since I was spending a day inside the house. For anyones reference (not sure how helpful this could be to someone, but I’m sure it’ll help someone who’s similar to me.) I usually menstruate for 7 days. The first two days of my menstrual are light, the middle days are the heaviest, and last day is light again. (I am not a heavy bleeder which according to google a heavy bleeder means You must change your pad or tampon every 2 hrs because it’s full). It’s Day 1 of my period so far & what I have to say is that although I’m on the lightest flow day of my period right now, I feel safe with these pads I wasn’t afraid of leaking out of them as they are quite big. They are thick and I feel like it will hold for my flow on the days that it gets heavier (will update to let you ladies know at day 3/4 of my period). A problem I had with other pads is that they were not long enough and when I laid down welp it wasnt so nice. But this is long enough so you won’t be left with any surprises on your sheets. Another issue i had with other pads is they wouldn’t stay in tact. Am I the only one that would find some pads would move more to one side than the other no matter how well you placed them? Well Rael pads have a button on the “wings” which help keep them in tact. MY ONLY PROBLEM AND FEAR WITH THESE IS THAT IM NOT SURE HOW LONG I WILL HAVE THESE BECAUSE IM AFRAID THEY WILL BE STAINED BY THE NEXT USE. Ladies!… we all know that blood stains. I think we all figured that out on some occasion where we woke up to see our perfectly good bedsheets to be ruined or our favorite underwear to be sacrificed by the monthly visit, never to be quite the same again after a thousand hand washes and machine washes, so therefore they were ruined and now thrown away. Rael organic pads are a light beige color so blood will be visible. I took my shower. & as I looked down at the pad I was worried that not all of the blood would be removed from the Rael pad. I let it soak in some Castile soap and peroxide (which is great for stains btw) and got to scrubbing away for some time. I went through this process 3 more times before everything was removed. & I started getting nervous. So it made me think what about my 2nd or 3rd use with them? Will I be so lucky to get it all removed the next time around? I’m not so sure I will. Also please keep in mind that I didn’t keep the pad on for long, so this means it might be harder to remove any stains the longer you keep it on or the longer you take to wash it. I also tested to see if it’s better to hand wash them or throw them in the washer machine and hand washing them is better. Then throw them in the washer after the hand wash. I hope Rael can come out with darker colors for their reusable pads for this kind of issue, besides this they are a great brand and I have no other complains. ... show more

  • Oddly love it
Size: XL
I needed to try a new product due to a medical condition and this has been a great solution for me. It’s an adjustment to use but well worth the effort.

  • Most comfortable brand I have tried
Size: 2X-Large
ok ladies, I know you are wondering if you can really ditch your old pads for this. DO IT! I was super skeptical, but also did not want to keep attaching toxic chemicals wrapped in trash to my most sensitive parts. Switching has lessened my cramps, made my flow lighter, saved me money, and it turns out, cloth is really not that big of a deal to change and clean. Does this product stain? Yeah, kinda, but who cares? It's just like if you leak on your comfy pants. Treat it with whatever you normally would if you really need them to stay white (I suggest peroxide btw). IMO, these are pads. Not worth the time and effort. Is it hard to change at work? Not really. When you get them, play with it a bit. It's super easy to flip the bottom and top over and close it up with the snaps so it's in a little ball that can be tucked easily away. I keep them in a little cotton bag. How many do you need? As I said, it made my flow lighter. It kind of depends how often you want to do laundry. I ordered 2 sets and just throw mine in with the rest of my laundry. (Don't look like that, if it was your night clothes with a leak would you wash them separately?) Get over the shame and stigma. ... show more
