I was introduced to Thermos tumblers when I was visiting my Dad shortly before he died in 2016. He was in hospice at the time and he told me to use his Keurig coffee maker and use his Thermos tumbler to make coffee. I was amazed that the coffee stayed hot all day while I visited with him each day over the last two or three weeks of his life. I'd make a cup in the morning and it would still be hot in the late afternoon. I brought the tumbler home with me and used it for a number of years. This most recent purchase is my third. I’ve tried other travel coffee mugs over the years and I have concluded that this is, in fact, the best one. I am very particular about the temperature of my coffee, so regular mugs are a no-go. I use this mug to take my coffee to work (commuting via public transit), at home, and even when I travel. It is easy to grip, easy to clean, and DOES NOT LEAK. Of course, you do have to make sure the lid is in the “close” position (I have experienced the consequences of not doing this several times). This mug keeps my coffee warm for many hours. One thing I wall say is that I also have the blue version but the outside paint peels. It doesn’t affect the function of the mug though. Well! I attend a day program for seniors. I noticed that one of the ladies who attends daily, carried a thermos that was caulked with Paper towel, and it was leaking. She actually showed it to me, so I decided to fix the problem. I came home and searched Amazon, my favorite store😊 and there it was. I ordered this lovely thermos and when I received it, I took it to the center the following day and presented it to her. She was so happy for the thermos! Every day she shows the thermos, she says to me, “look this does not leak” so, this morning she showed me the thermos again, and yelled out, “this does not leak.” I took my phone and showed her the Amazon purchase, and explain to her that it will not leak! Does what it says. Keeps my morning coffee hot for 6 plus hours and my afternoon iced tea cold for even longer. The ergonomics are superb - it is a joy to hold and drink from. The lid really is leak-proof and very comfortable to drink from. I have not experienced any difficulty unscrewing the lid despite the reports of others (just screw the lid in snugly, NOT tightly -it won't leak and you can then unscrew it easily). Also very easy to disassemble the lid when necessary to clean with soapy water. Only drawback is that it's made in China (I try to avoid products made in China if at all possible), but the quality control seems good. Time will tell... So far I feel that the product is superior to YETI and considerably less expensive. A great value! Highly recommended! ... show more

    • Great Leak-proof Mug that Keeps Your Beverages Hot or Cold

I'm 67 years old and this is the best thermal mug I've ever owned! First off it's made of a very solid steel and bullet-proof construction. You could stand on it on a sidewalk and it wouldn't dent. More importantly I love my hot drinks HOT when I drink them and this mug meets the requirements!! As advertised, it keeps hot liquids hot over 4 hours. Granted it's not as hot as when it first went in, but it is still HOT, not luke warm!! I haven’t used it for cold drinks, but I have no doubt that the insulation properties will work just as well at keeping things cold. I drive a Mini Cooper and the base of the mug fits perfectly into the console cup holder. The top of the mug which screws into the tumbler seals without leaks. You can turn your mug upside down in the closed position and not a drop will leak out! The lid has two openings from which to drink and there is a tab that is easily toggled to open and close the flow. The top contains several pieces that screw together and seat nicely for a solid leak-free seal. The top can be disassembled easily by a quick-turn of the plastic nut inside the mug which allows for separation of the open/close parts and the seal for periodic cleaning. I’ve seen some reviews stating that the top breaks. I haven’t had any problems in this regard. The only reason I can think of for that happening is that people are over-tightening the lid when screwing it onto the cup. It takes very little pressure to put the lid on and seal perfectly – no leaks. Just a light twist will do it. The lid is easily removed and disassembled by a quarter turn of the lock on the bottom of the lid allowing the periodic cleaning of the silicone gasket and open/close assembly. With the mug full of hot coffee, the lid on and switched into the “closed” setting, you can turn the mug upside down and it won’t leak a drop!! Great mug! I'll probably buy another!! ... show more
