  • Excellent
Hiked the Appalachian Trail with this. The battery lasted half of the distance without any problem. I highly recommend this wonderful time saver!

  • Expensive luxury item.
The pump is way overpriced for the value of the plastic. If you want to make it easier to inflate your sleeping mat and not use the provided bags, consider it as it makes inflating and deflating convenient.

  • Doesn't fit Deflate valve on Thermarest Mondoking 3D
I have a Therm-a-Rest MondoKing 3D mattress that I've had for just over a year. Saw this Therm-a-Rest NeoAir and thought it would work for me. It connects to the inflate valve, but doesn't connect to the deflate valve. I've been trying to hold it against the deflate valve to finish deflating what I couldn't squeeze out when I got back from my trip. Wondering if there's an adapter I can get. Something to investigate. At least it will make inflating easier, but it's a lot of money for just inflating. It should fit both valves on their own products! ... show more

  • Works, just not as fast as advertised
I bought this since it was taking 40 breaths to inflate my Thermorest neoair pad. It certainly does inflate it much easier than manually! What I don't like is that I just have to start it and walk away. 10 minutes later, the pad is as full as it's going to get. Maybe I was just hopeful that it would only take 3 minutes or so. Changing to fresh batteries did not make much of a difference. What I really like is how it deflates the pad. Start it and when I get back to the pad, it's mostly flat. When I roll it up, there is always a little air that I expel just before putting it away. This pump has made putting the pad away very simple. The only addition that I would like to see is the use of a rechargeable battery. Having to carry additional AAA batteries is something I would prefer not to have to do. ... show more

  • Works great if you use it properly
I'm an avid backpacker and have had a Thermarest NeoAir Xtherm (old style) and their older inflate-only pump for several years. I wanted to try the new pump, so upgraded to the new pad with wing-valve. I'm very happy with both new items. This pump feels much sturdier than the old one, and is slightly smaller. To get your pad to easily inflate, open the valve and first blow a breath of air in to loosen up the flapper; then the pump works as it should. Be sure to connect the pump properly and make sure there is plenty of open area at the intake end so it can get air (make sure it's not up against the wall of the tent, your gear, ets.). Some reviewers who said it didn't work probably experienced the flapper not being loose enough to allow the pump to work well. On deflate, it works best if you don't pre-deflate the pad, that is, don't open the valve while you're still laying on it. It doesn't take all the air out, it just can't, but it did okay and then just a tight roll up should do the trick. However, I preferred to still deflate the pad manually--just works better for me plus I wanted to preserve battery life on the pump. FYI, even without the pump the wing valve on the new pad is a VAST improvement, makes inflating and deflating much easier. ... show more

  • Works great so far (50 nights)
Very convenient and has worked great for 50+ nights, paired with my NeoAir Topo Luxe 25" wide pad, which requires lots of air. Fully charged Eneloop NiMH cells yielded 7 nights with plenty of capacity at end of trip. Per my smart charger, I extrapolate that I could get at least 15 nights (or two pads x 7 nights) from fully charged Eneloop Pro cells. ... show more

  • Doesn't fit all air mattress inflation valves
It doesn't fit my air mattress inflation valve. It should come with adapters to fit different size inflation valves.

  • Slow
Not sure why I'd carry this and worry about batteries when the pump sack included with my sleep pad inflates the pad much faster than this pump.
