    • Bare Bones - The Best Set to Date with Some Drawbacks
This is a review for the inexpensive Blu-ray set. I also have owned the complete boxed set of all five seasons on D.V.D. for about sixteen years. 1. The packaging is truly awful. If you order this, also obtain a 24-disk C.D. case of your choice for convenient handling. The moment you see how horrendous this packaging is, you will never want to use the supplied case. 2. The video transfers are truly excellent. Bonus features from the D.V.D.s have all (?) been retained with extra bonus features added. The videotaped episodes were not upscaled, so they are authentic transfers but a missed opportunity. 3. The audio is also a missed opportunity. The audio was reworked and does sound better than ever, but it is 48Khz. The failure to remaster at 96Khz or even 192Khz seems inexplicable. 4. Unlike the D.V.D. set, there is no episode guide save lists of episode names on the inside paper jacket in the case. The D.V.D. set did better in this regard, including a flimsy paper insert for each season. 5. While the D.V.D.s listed the original broadcast date for each episode, this was sadly omitted for the Blu-rays. 6. Gone is that horrible, horrible spoiler-laden montage which came at the beginning of all of the D.V.D.s. Someone in production had some sense, unlike whoever greenlit that montage for the D.V.D. set. 7. The best addition here is actual subtitles, something completely overlooked for the D.V.D. set. My wife can now more easily enjoy the shows with me, though the fact that none of the current technologies ever made use of Internet technology to dynamically add subtitles after the fact is an incomprehensible failure on the part of the industry as a whole. Sadly, for Season 1 at least, a whole lot of careless typos were made. "Betelgeuce" and "Orion" are both rendered as "[indecipherable]", which is just inexcusable. The set is great.     • LOVE the Twilight Zone
I bought this just for the sole fact that Hulu is NOT supported any longer on my PS3. I have always loved watching the twilight zone and I do binge watch it just for background noise. Even if some episodes truly suck me in time and time again. As someone else stated, the packaging the discs come in is TERRIBLE! It's just not user friendly. Though I wouldn't go out and buy another CD jacket just to store these in. I DO like the hard case it comes with. And honestly, LOTS of other TV on DVD cases come like this with little variations. but it's definitely how the "pages" turn that can be a little difficult to work. Overall, the show is great! I bought this on Prime day so it was even cheaper than the list price which is fantastic since this is the best price box set you will find. Yes the case is complete garbage and the discs don't even stay in it but for the price it's worth it put it in a different case

THIS SERIES IS GREAT ON BLU RAY. SOUND AND PICTURE QUALITY IS AWESOME. THE FIRST SEASON FOR SOME REASON DOES NOT GIVE THE TITLES OF THE EPISODES WHEN WHEN YOU WATCH THEM. THIS MAY HAVE BEEN DELIBERATE WHEN THE SERIES WAS FIRST SHOWN. OH WELL. FOUR STAR RATING ONLY BECAUSE THE DISCS ARE ARRANGED ON TOP OF EACH OTHER. FOR INSTANCE, THE LAST DISC OF SEASON 1 HAS TO BE REMOVED TO WATCH THE FIRST DISC OF SEASON 2 ETC. AND THEY DO NOT COME OUT EASILY. BE CAREFUL OF THIS OR YOU ARE SCREWED. These Twilight Zone episodes must have been restored because they all look brand new, crystal clear on the blu-rays. They look amazing compared to the DVDs I had previously. If you are a fan of the Twilight Zone shows, I highly recommend getting them in this blu-ray collection.

I checked all the discs, made sure they were all there, they were. Other folks complained about the case, it is a little goofy, you just have to be careful. There's 5 discs per season, I put 3 discs on the bottom holder and two on the top, no problem. I'm into season two and no freezes.....they play fine. Great set for the price. ... show more
