Description

From the 1 New York Times bestselling author of Dragons Love Tacos comes this hilarious picture book about everyone’s favorite piece of furniture. Pssst! Hey. I'm here to tell ya what the furniture police don't want you to know... Listen close. I'll explain everything. Most people think couches are just for sitting, or maybe napping, and don't give it a second thought. But did you know couches can go berserk if you don't feed them a steady diet of coins, cell phones, and remote controls? And did you know some couches are grown on a farm? (Where do you think the term couch potato comes from?) Some come from two chairs who love each other very much, and some are actually aliens in disguise. And that's just the tip of the iceberg... This laugh-out-loud send- up of conspiracy theories brings Adam Rubin's trademark zany humor together with the richly expressive artwork of Macanudo creator Liniers to explore the totally, completely true (really! maybe?) history of the world's most beloved—and misunderstood—item of furniture. • Fun children's picture book that creatively inspires couch as more than a seating object
So much fun to read! Kids giggle right along with all the couch adventures. Even as an adult, I reread over 5 times! Clever story and illustrations with layout design that keep the pages turning to reveal surprises. (Explore writing stories for other surprising objects.)

  • Adorable book
This book is hilarious! My kid and I recently had a battle with the couch over a lost remote, so this book was just perfect for us. It strikes the ideal balance, and if you're one of those parents who does the characters' voices, your child will absolutely love it.

  • "Read it again!"
Bought this for my 3 1/2 year old granddaughter. When I got it, I thought it might be a little too advanced for her but when I read it to her, I found out she totally got it. And found it hilarious! The first time I read it to her, she had me read it 3 times in a row so I guess you could call it a success. ... show more

  • Childrens books
Just adding to the collection of children's book by this author. I like the style of the writer and many of his book are silly.

The review is in the title. Such an imaginative book.

  • The kids won't get this . . .
I have been doing Story Times with children for 10 plus years and this is not a book I would pick for them. It is difficult to follow. It is oddly bizarre, in a disquieting sort of way. I wouldn't recommend it.
