Loved these things however once it was all said and done and we did the math, even with the "free" prime shipping, these ended up costing significantly more than going to the local Costco and purchasing the K-cups there. I love the brand and of course its hard to go wrong with K-cups in general (although I do have one comment on that below) but the price unfortunately just sort of lost it for me. One thing on the K-cups I did notice is that unlike several other brands of coffee, this particular K-cup from this shipment is back pressuring my Keruig more than others. That is, it takes almost twice as long to push the water through the K-cup than other brands of coffee and sometimes it takes so long that the Keruig stops and I get only 2/3s a cup of coffee. Note that this Keruig has been descaled and cleaned with actual regular maintenance on the troublesome one-way valve as well as the rotating pump. No deep analysis as to why this is other than (short of cutting open a couple cups and comparing them) it seems like the coffee might be denser in the filter part of the K-cup (for those that don't know, some K-cups are more expensive because they put extra filters in the space and encapsulate the coffee in there. Things like hot chocolate use no filters and just flush the contents into your cup). ... show more

UPDATE: I reviewed this coffee previously and gave it 5/5. I had a recent purchase that was less than stellar. I believe that I purchased some defective or fraudulent cups. These cups are labeled "THIS UNIT NOT LABELED FOR RETAIL SALE". I have previously enjoyed this coffee, so I purchased a large quantity of the K-Cups expecting the quality that I have had in the past. I thought I was having trouble with my brewer as I was getting errors on the screen saying that it was under high pressure! I perform routine maintenance on my coffee maker. Additionally, 3/4 or more of the K-Cups would spill copious amounts of coffee grounds into my coffee cups. The 1/4 that do not pour all of the grounds into my cup taste weak and stale. So, since my purchase, I brew around 3-4 cups of coffee daily to achieve a less than desirable cup of coffee... I contacted Keurig and performed maintenance on my machine. I was instructed to return my machine and was appalled when my new machine was doing the same thing! I purchased some different coffee from my local grocery store rather than using my Donut Shop K-Cups from Amazon and have not had a problem since. All this headache and it was the K-Cups after all!!! So, I simply cannot recommend this coffee any longer and do not know if I would waste the money and purchase more as I do not know if it was fraudulent or simply poor quality control on the Donut Shop's part. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Previous Review: I can see why this is so popular. The Original Donut Shop K-cup is just a good all-around cup of coffee. This K-cup isn’t a flavored coffee. For my daily coffee, I want a coffee that smells great, is not overly “burnt” tasting and doesn’t leave a sour aftertaste. This isn’t gourmet coffee, but it is a basic medium bodied coffee that tastes almost like a light-roast breakfast blend. The Donut Shop coffee is fairly smooth and not too acidic, but does have a slight aftertaste. This coffee is best alongside breakfast. I would compare it to Green Mountain Breakfast Blend, but say this one is a little better in my opinion. For these reasons, this is my daily go to coffee. ... show more

    • Grounds spill out!

My husband has loved drinking this for years. Recently we’ve had to strain about every third cup because they are not properly sealed and the grounds spill out. This also means we have to clean out our Keurig machine. I’m hoping it is just a fluke with the current box of 72. If not, a new coffee will be found.     • Broken seal on many cups

I read the reviews after my purchase so when I opened my box I knew to what to look for. Sure enough at least three in each box have a broken seal is this something that we will be reimbursed for? We love this coffee but not sure it's worth the money to buy K-Cups if the seal be broken on this many.

We have a monthly subscription for 72 ct of these. We really like the coffee however the latest batch is bad. The majority of the kcups in each of the boxes are defective. This isn't the first time this has happened either. Not sure what is going on with Donut Shop quality control but you can tell by just looking at them which ones will explode in the Keurig leaving coffee grounds in my cup. The tops that are sunk in or flat are the bad ones. The seal is not actually broken until its put in the Keurig. The good ones will have a slight puffed up top to them. I would really like a replacement shipment but if this happens again I will be cancelling our subscription and searching for another brand.. ... show more

This is a great deal for the amount of pods you get. The coffee is great and it's nice that they come in smaller boxes so you can easily take them to work instead of putting them in a bad or whatever. 100% recommend

I've never considered myself a coffee connoisseur by any means. One coffee tasted like the next to me. I've always purchased different brands hoping that one would stand out from the rest and finally I have found that brand! This coffee has a wonderful aroma while brewing which made me salivate just smelling it. The first sip all the way to the last sip was excellent. It has a smooth flavor without an overbearing bitter taste. I am now a dedicated Donut Shop coffee fan! Finally I found a coffee that stands out from the rest! ... show more
