Description

The final chapter in the popular film trilogy stars Jason James Richter (Free Willy) as Bastian, a teenager whose life is turned upside down when his father remarries. On his first day at a new school, Bastian is chased by a vicious gang called the Nasties, led by Slip (Jack Black, Gullivers Travels). Bastian hides in the library where he finds a magic book that writes itself according to the imagination of the reader. To escape the Nasties (and his troubles at home), Bastian wishes himself into Fantasia, the storybooks phantasmic world of incredible creatures. Its here, away from the pressures of the real world, that Bastian thinks hes safe. But when the Nasties take control of the book, his Fantasian friends get stuck on Earth, and its up to Bastian to save them.

  • Disappointing (1 of the 2 movies included, at any rate)
I can only speak for Neverending Story 3 (Haven't yet seen A wrinkle In Time, but am looking forward to seeing how it measures up to the books). NES 3 had a huge problem with suspension of disbelief. If every wish just makes fantasia stronger, there's no reason he shouldn't continue making them (at least there was a plausible reason not to make wishes in the second movie). It is amazing that his role in this movie (as an inexplicably evil bully with no reasonable motivation for being such an A-hole in a children's movie), did not crush the career of a young Jack Black, but we are all very fortunate that it didn't. Also, while I dig sixties rock & roll as much as the next aging neo-hippie, it should have no business playing in Fantasia. That is all ... show more

  • Want to hate watch something?
It's pretty much unwatchable. The jokes are terrible. It's a waste of perfectly good Jim Henson studios talent. It has an early one dimentional role for Jack Black, but it is like a slap in the face to both previous movies in the series.

  • I don’t get why people don’t like this movie
I absolutely love this movie! I wish they had an English version of it on Blu-ray. Jack Black is amazing in this and hilarious. Falkor is always life!!!

  • Not sure if used or new, wasn't plastic sealed
It wasn't plastic wrapped, but the movies plays and it is the right movie so I'm happy. Not sure if it was a used DVD or not the description wasn't clear on that. Overall very happy with my purchase.

  • Prepare for nightmares
I don't know what was wrong with me when I was a child, the only redeeming part is the fact that jack black is one of the bullies, and this is his worst movie ever. The luck-dragon suddenly morphed into a strange hellish creature and lost what little personality it had by becoming entirely one-dimensional. Everything else is disturbing and sickening. Notable parts of this movie: Jack Black has a unibrow. The main character Sebastian has a new dad in every movie of this trilogy. ... show more

  • everyone said they didn't like it. But I really loved this movie
When I read other people's reviews of this movie; everyone said they didn't like it. But I really loved this movie. I thought it was funny. I love Jack Black as the bad guy. I love the theme of good vs. evil. I loved the first two movies and I never knew there was a third one until I ran across it here. I'm glad I decided to watch it because I almost listened to all of the other reviews. ... show more
