    • Wonderful, detailed book for soapmakers!
This is a meticulously researched, well-written, and extremely informative book. I’m an experienced, professional soapmaker myself, and I can tell you that Simi is a wonderful teacher. I have both used her soap and tried her techniques myself, and the book is such a great resource for anyone who is seriously interested in natural, cold process soapmaking. I find a lot of her advice to be spot on and super helpful. The photos are stunning, and you can just tell that she’s done so much work to gather the correct information in order to help you make really good soap. The recipes are well-written, and easily adapted to your own personal preferences, and the science is explained extremely well. In this genre and field, it can be be challenging to find a truly technically-sound resource that doesn’t rely on hearsay and oft-repeated material lifted from bloggers — this book is a gem. Simi is a fantastic teacher! As soon as I received her book, I read it front to back in one sitting. I could not put it down! This is the BEST book on soaping I have ever read, and I have read a few. After reading her book, I promptly mailed ALL of my other soaping books to my brother. As a registered nurse and the owner of a magnesium lotion company, I like to know the "why" behind what I am doing. I do not like to walk blindly into anything without meticulous research. This book has that and more. Simi explains soap making in the analytical and methodical way that my brains needs. She is also artistic, and has the SAME values as far as natural and sustainable ingredients go. Simi THANK YOU for helping this CO girl achieve her dream of natural soap making! As a new soap maker, this book is incredibly helpful in guiding me through the process as well as explaining the ins and outs of the science behind the formulas. The book is full of beautiful photos and so many recipes! I’m looking forward to working my way through them.

Excellent book! While I don't typically like books with different recipes, since I already have my recipe down, this book has incredible tips and ideas. Which made me reformulate my recipe 😋 and make it much better. I love the section about essential oils, which is the actual reason I bought this book. I am so excited about this book!, I have been listening to “muddy minty” on line. The author has LOTS of beautiful pictures, a must for me! She has clear instructions, great and creative ideas and suggestions. She speaks from experience from her own soaping journey, which is so valuable to us all.
