I am 49 years old and I had one of these when I was a little girl. It brought back my childhood when I saw her. I have to grand daughters but I do have a daughter. I have a hope chest of things I want my kids and grandkids to have when I get old (or die) so they can see/experience what I did when I was young. Strawberry shortcake is still in her box and in my hope chest. I also write in a journal a little bit about about why I thought the item was important to me, and why I want them to know about it. I bought this doll for my collection. She is sitting nicely in my room and I'm enjoying her with the other products that I have bought that resemble her I highly recommend that you buy this doll if you want all the nostalgic feelings to come back to you when you were a child.. She does come with small items but because I don't take her out of my box I don't have to worry about that If you're going to give this to your child just be vigilant at those small items ... show more

First doll I ordered had a broken hip joint. Sent it back The replacement doll had a broken hip joint too, although I thought I could maybe pop the second one's hip back in. Nope. I don't appreciate my time being wasted or disappointing my daughter. I had the original Strawberry Shortcake dolls. They didn't have 30 points of articulation or bending, and we all lived. There's no need for hip joint sockets in a doll this tiny. There are a slew of complaints all over the internet about the Strawberry Shortcake doll breaking at the hip joint, often right out of the box as I experienced. This product is garbage. When I bought the first doll I also bought the Orange Blossom and Plum Pudding dolls. They are not broken, but I know it's just a matter of days before they break too. ... show more

Love her face she is super cute. But, there are numerous issues with this doll. #1 She doesn't smell #2 Love the idea of the articulation points but I'm finding it makes the doll more fragile feeling not sturdy like the originals and the recent remakes. One of mine the arm was hard to turn and kind of let it be because I was worried I would break her. #3 Her hair is a different color even from the new bakeshop doll that was just released. #4 One leg seems shorter than the other and you have to kind of push her leg up to get them even. #5 Like others have said I ordered 2 dolls and both of their hair was choppy and bangs not even. The bakeshop girl I got her leg was already out of the socket. Overall, very cute and as an 80's girl I had to get her. I just hope with future editions that these items are fixed. ... show more

Everything is as described EXCEPT for it being strawberry scented. That's literally the reason I bought it. I wanted my daughter to have the same experience with her strawberry shortcake doll as I did when I was a young girl. We're incredibly disappointed in that singular feature. For the price and from the description, there should be a strawberry scent. That's why I'm giving it 2 stars. She still loves her doll and the accessories even without the scent. It just sucks that you read one thing and get another. Maybe fixing the language in the description is in order? ... show more

It’s a five one of the legs came broken, but you can easily pop it back in place. I love the smell it smelt exactly like strawberry shortcake. The leg was not broken off. It was just broken a little flimsy. The other one was perfectly fine. I highly recommend this.
