Description

The House of the Dead: The Remake resurrects the iconic nineties arcade game for the Nintendo Switch. After numerous scientific trials, Dr. Roy Curien, expert on the Human Genome Theory, succeeds in finding a way to resurrect the dead – at the cost of his sanity. Fearing the mad scientist, researcher Sophie Richards contacts her AMS friends Thomas Rogan and Agent G for help. Together they must make their way through a house of horrors, fending off throngs of zombies at each turn as they attempt to save laboratory staff and stop Dr. Curien from further madness.

It’s a fun game to play with friends. You do have to recalibrate the gyro aiming a couple times but it’s pretty easy to do by just aiming toward the edge of the screen that it is off. It’s a short game though but depending on what zombies you kill will take you to different floors. 10/10 my game night choice with friends though ... show more

Baught this for the sake of nostalgia from my teenage years; and it ended up breaking the arcade loving kids heart. What a disappointment!!! While the game and story hasnt changed, everything else has! Not complaining much about the graphics, but the controls are... COMPLETE DOOKIE! Not even third party peripherals can bring this corps back to life. P.S. they had this on sale in the Nintendo eshop (probably wrong with the name) for $6; even that is way too much; I wouldnt pay 10 cents for it. ... show more

Great game with a great price

    • Controls are not great. Sadly, thats what makes a good game.
Believe me when I say I hate to admit this but the controls are not great for this game. I received massive drift, I found myself more focused on hitting the reset button to recenter the crosshair. That and reloading (there is a feature to auto reload but what's the fun in that). So naturally at first I'm thinking "ok. I'd hate for it to be the case but maybe it's my joy cons. Switched joy cons, same thing. Then I used my nephews switch to see if I'm just unlucky and its my console. Same thing. I tried switching the gyro settings for hours to try and calibrate a comfortable setting, to no avail. I feel like the Nintendo Wii had better motion controls than this. Most games I use gyro aiming are used for a brief moment unlike house of dead where your constantly aiming, so you'd never notice the difference until you play this game. Take your chances if you want. Just don't get your hopes up to high. The people giving a 5 star review must have a lot of patients with the controls or don't use gyro aiming. ... show more
