My daughter requested this for Christmas, and I ordered it for her. I didn't pay too much attention to the author, etc. So recently as I was adding new stuff to my Kindle (I have the app for my Android, hubby has a Kindle Fire HD that he loves), saw the book for Kindle was recommended, and ordered the first in the series (the Giver), then texted my daughter saying "OMG! You have to read this book! It's awesome!" "Uhm, Mom, that's from the book set you gave me, remember?" Duh...A great read, though the first in the quartet, The Giver, may leave some readers wanting. Not unnecessarily an unfinished ending, just leaves the reader to figure things out for themselves. Have already read that one and Gathering Blue, and have just started on The Messenger, which seems to take up years later from "Blue..." ... show more
