  • Great record
Love the Eagles. Great record.

  • Eagles fans "must have"
Listen to this album and you will begin to sense that most of the songs have a country feelin. Others use powerful bacground music to "power through. This album is classic rock at its early beginnings. Also, if you're a classic rock buff, this album is essential for your collection. In this greatest hits collection, there are only ten tracks to listen to, but these classic songs do not wear out on you. This collection also defines the early Eagles' creativity and diversity in their music. It shows Glenn Frey and Don Henley as two of the best songwriters in classic rock history. The album has classic rockers such as "Take It Easy" (-recently chose as best song to cruise to) and "Already Gone". Wonderful relaxing classics consist of "Peaceful, Easy Feeling", "Best Of My Love", and "Tequila Sunrise". The songs are so soothing, they almost take you to another place where one can relax and watch a sunset (or "sunrise") while sipping a strong drink. "Take It To The Limit" is a beautiful collaboration of the bands vocal talents and songwriting. The song that strikes me the most on this album, though, is "Desperado". Every time I listen to this song, I get moved. . The song moves me with such original lyrics, absolutely incredible singing by Don, and flawless production. Gotta have tis album. ... show more

  • Very nice indeed
This vinyl reissue from Elektra/WEA is just great. The mastering is excellent and the vinyl is quiet! The sticker on the outer baggy for the album says "Pressed with more care than ever." After having purchased a number of brand new lp's pressed at RTI and being disappointed by surface noise right out of the package it is nice to see these records finally undergoing better quality control. If you have an appreciation for this music, buy this record- you won't be disappointed. I nearly shelled out $150-$200 for a DCC lp of this title which I am certain sounds excellent. I will no longer do so as this version has left me perfectly satisfied for sound quality. The cover art reproduction is also very nice- the embossing is a nice touch. My only gripes with this edition are as follows: 1) The cover, while immaculately reproduced, is just a tad flimsy and 2) there is no mention of any mastering technicians/labs anywhere on the cover and there is no insert of any kind. The record itself is in a nice plastic inner sleeve. All around, I say this is 4 of 5 for presentation and 5 of 5 for sound. Totally worth the price. "One of These Nights" will have you struttin'. ... show more

  • The Eagles Their Greatest Hits
I use to own this CD from the late 70's but somehow lost it, and this is exactly what I recalled! The CD was flawless and the music is also very good rock, although some of the songs are a bit too heavy with a heavy electrical guitar. But it is the original group, and better than my other recent Eagles CD purchase, Eagles - Live From The Forum MMXVII 2CD. This is one CD to hold on to! ... show more

  • A Classic - Mostly
This is the first of the best of the Eagles' greatest hits. All 10 of the songs are catchy and are continuously played on the radio today. But (isn't there always a "but"?) there seems to be a lack of cohesion between the songs. Granted, this is a "greatest hits" album so there should be "greatest hits" on it. But when one looks at the albums from which these songs were drawn, there are many songs that would hold up well. "Saturday Night" from "Desperado", "Train Leaves Here This Morning" from ""Eagles", and "After the Thrill is Gone" from "One Of These Nights" are examples that didn't make the cut. Don't get me wrong; I play this album often. I love singing along with them. This is a great album for someone who is just getting into The Eagles and showcases their singing talents well. But for someone already familiar with their work, I would highly recommend getting the albums from which these songs are taken. Especially the three listed above. ... show more
