  • Grandma makes the best cookies!
This book is the best! Not only does it foster mathematical thinking in children, but it promotes Grandma as the best cookie maker! If I don’t have a “enornous tray of cookies” in hand when I go over to my 3 year old grandson’s house, I make sure that I knock. That doorbell means cookies!

  • The students love this book
I purchased this book to use in my 3rd grade math classroom. The students love this book, and it makes the concept of division much more understandable for students. For our lesson, I pass out ziploc bags of "Cookie Crisp" to each student and we do hands-on activities to divide/share the cookies in groups and/or rows. ... show more

  • great division intro
Perfect for introducing division in an elementary classroom. I read it through once, while the students listen. During the second reading, they begin drawing the division problems as they appear. They work together to complete the pictures and show the correct algorithms.

  • A staple for bedtime
My kids love the simplicity of the story, the great graphics, and I personally love the message around sharing what you have with others. A true value buy.

  • Cookies illustrate food for thought
This is a delightful book. My two and four year old granddaughters just love it! They were taken by the children's generosity in sharing their cookies with a seemingly unending line of friends and relatives. It is great that the ending event reinforces this spirit of generosity. In addition to the idea of sharing, children can also think about and learn a little basic arithmetic. The illustrations are cheerful, colorful, and speak to diversity among people. Much food for thought in this little gem. ... show more
