I'm an adult and enjoy this bible because of the different explainations and ways to apply this to your life that are included in the book. It's geared to middle school and up but I love it. I bought it for a bible study and it's my first time doing a full bible study and this has been great. My kids enjoy the included coloring pages. This Bible is wonderful! I got it last year for my 10 and 12 yr old Granddaughters, and they loved it! There are places for notes, places to color, lots of interesting notes. My daughter-in-law , who is a convert and has never had a bible of her own, asked for one for her birthday this year, so she can make her own notes when they are studying together. The size is 9 1/4" X 7 3/8" x 1 1/2." I am including this for people who are looking to buy bible covers, as I did not see this in the description and had to wait for the bible to arrive to buy the covers ... show more

I'm so happy I purchased this bible! Don't let the words, YOUTH, dissuade you; I'm 28 and getting ready to start RCIA classes so I wanted something to help me interact and learn about the word of God in depth. I love the special features it has (see attached pictures). I do wish it had more coloring artwork and journal areas. If you want that only, I would recommend you get a journaling bible with blank/lined columns. I also wish it had came with tabs or indents that show you where the chapters are more easily. I don't want to always refer back to the index. I will end up purchasing the Catholic bible tabs. In another review it has the paperback measurements listed; thr hardback is different. The measurements are 9 1/4 Tall x 6 3/4 x 1 3/4. Very happy with this bible and definately recommend! ... show more

My daughter received one of these at her school in 6th grade and as soon as we looked at it I knew I needed one too... 1. It is very colorful 2. There are lots of parts to color in and make it your own 3. Has alot of special features like book introductions, growing in faith, Did you know and so much more 4. The books begin with a quick summary and how this is relevant today, and headline highlights 5. The biblical history time line is very informative 6. I especially love the very end with the When I'm feeling section with suggestions of where to turn in the bible for when you are feeling overwhelmed, lost or uncertain, tempted, pressure from peers and so much more! Totally in love with this bible. Bought 4, one for me and one for each of my 3 girls. I had researched these bibles extensively so there was no surprise. If you are looking for a great Catholic Youth bible...this is it. But it’s not just for youth, adults can enjoy and learn from it too! Handle the pages with care. This bible has pages for you to doodle, color, and note take. They are typical thin bible pages. I would use bible highlighters and/or bible “crayons” to avoid bleed through. ... show more

    • A Perfect Bible for Catholic Youth Religion Classes and for Self Study
I like the extensive explanations and cross-reference material which will be valuable for both youth learning about the Bible and adults alike. In fact, this Bible will serve the reader for a lifetime. The only con is that the print tends to be small, especially for the footnotes, but I realize that this is necessary to contain all the necessary material in a compact size. The Catholic Youth Bible would be a cherished gift, especially for Catholic youth in the upper elementary and high school grades who are learning the connection between the Bible and Catholic beliefs. ... show more
