I started painting my Dead by Daylight board game minatures last month and wanted to try doing envrionmental basing for the first time. As a newbie, this purchase was perfect for me and had all the variety I could need. I was nervous based on some of the reviews that I would not have enough to finish all my pieces. By the end of it, I had PLENTY of the basing left, plus more. I do wish there more tufts available though. I even attached a picture of what I had left. While the box does contain an assortment of basing material, I was expecting the kit to come with a little more for the price you pay. Instead of the containers they typically come in, all the items come in a small bag that are about a 3rd of what you'd typically get buying them singularly. The glue itself is nice but looks and works like Elmer's glue so nothing crazy special about it. ... show more

I’m fairly new to the miniature hobby and just started basing. I’ve been looking at ways to expand my basing skills. I got this for almost 50% off and for that price it is a very good deal to try out a bunch of their terrain products.

Needs a much bigger bag of the basing sand. The rest is great but I had to go in the backyard and get more sand to glue on my bases.

First time using this sort of kit, so I'm a total beginner. However, the materials were easy to use and worked well. The package includes a booklet of other items and tools in Army Painter inventory, as well as tips and tricks. The brief video online was sufficient for my purposes. Here you can see a hut (or landing pad) I created to match the topography of Sorgan (Mandalorian episode "Sanctuary.") I needed a little extra glue to complete the project, but this kit was enough to decorate everything you see here. I had leftover rocks, dirt, and all the snow. I'm thinking of checking out their other materials to outfit my Tatooine scenery. ... show more

    • If you’re a newbie mini-painter, buy with caution.
Don’t get me wrong; I love Army Painter products. This brand is pretty much all I use, and aside from some problem paints, my experience has been great! However, this is static grass. I mistakenly assumed I was getting the basic green flock I’m used to, but this stuff is extra effort and extra money, seeing as it doesn’t come with a static applicator. If you’re new and/or casual about the hobby, consider other options. If you want to step up your basing beyond the average, go for it! Also, I’ve heard there might be ways to make your own static generator, but I’m uncertain about rubbing a balloon on my cat. ... show more
