Description

A wider center cutaway and the addition of gel along the top are the primary differentiators between this saddle and our classic Butterfly. The wider relief channel, combined with its contoured rear and thin gel layer, makes the Butterfly Ti Gel + extremely comfortable and ideal for endurance riders. Like all Butterflies, the Ti Gel + shares the basic construction characteristics. It's wider in the rear than typical race saddles for good support of a woman's sit bones. The top is flat and low profile, and we've used the ideal blend of stiffness/softness in the injection molded foam to allow for good support and power while pedaling. Outfitted with lightweight ti rails and hand made in Italy. PRODUCT DETAILS - leather cover with perforated Butterfly pattern - thin gel layer along top of saddle provides an additional level of comfort - widest cutaway in the Butterfly line-up for maximum pressure relief - length x width: 262mm x 155mm - weight: 255 grams; 9 ounces - rails: ti-316

I am a 68 yo woman who rides many miles on a touring bike. For the past 7 years I have been riding a Brooks Flyer Imperial saddle. It was fine, until about a year ago when it started to painfully pinch in the soft tissue. I tried raising , lowering, fore and aft but it still hurt. I decided to try the Terry because the saddles are made specifically for women. It wasn’t an easy transition. The Brooks is a leather saddle that confirms to the shape of your butt. On the Terry you sit on your sitz bones. My sitz bones were bruised after 2 weeks and I thought I was going to return it. But slowly it started getting better. No more soft tissue pinching from the get go. The saddle seat is like you are suctioned to the saddle. On the Brooks I was always sliding forward and then backward. Not so on the Terry. It is easy to find and keep that sweet spot. Now, after about a month, I really like the saddle and I think it will keep getting better. ... show more

So about a week before Cycle Oregon - a week-long cycling event with nearly 450 miles of riding - I realized that my old seat wasn't going to cut it. I had been riding my old Terry Butterfly for 9 years - the leather had a hole in it, and I was getting pressure sores right at that location. I was so scared to put a new saddle on right before a big ride, but I didn't have a choice. I loved my previous Butterfly, and after doing some research, I ended up with the Butterfly Ti Gel. I noticed an improvement *immediately*! The pressure was gone, the seat was supple and cushioned, and required no time at all to break it in. Well worth the money. the center cut out is wider than the old one and has been rejected by my wife. I'll try to break it in and hope the gap will narrow. Now I have to try and repair her old one
