I ordered this as a first telescope and couldn't be happier! Specifically, the Altizamuth mount system is easy to use and makes the development of your skill faster and more fun. Using a telescope is a skill and it can be discouraging if it's difficult to align and find objects, but this telescope with its finder and unlimited range fine adjustment is fantastic! I find the clarity and brightness of objects to be perfect for a starter scope. The rings of Saturn and star clusters are both visible with everything included in this kit. Beyond that, you can add filters later to further enhance your experience. I have been reusing the packaging, taking the telescope out when I am using it and fully repacking for storage when not in use. It takes about 10 or 15 minutes but the size and weight are completely manageable for this process. I don't use the digital eyepiece often, but have in the past to capture some nice images on my phone. Overall, if you are looking for a 1st telescope, I believe this is a fantastic value for money at this price point. ... show more

My Son and I received this as a gift for Christmas. We live in in the upper Midwest so Spring time was when we planned to check it all out. We are both thrilled with the KOOLPTE Telescope. It was pretty easy to set up and comes with multiple lenses. The adjustment knobs are also a great feature. Just a couple of sessions to work with them and they work great. The multiple lenses that come with the product are also very cool. We are able to zoom in pretty close and check out the surfaces of the moon. Very pleased with the product and look forward to getting even more use out of it. ... show more

Overall this is a solid telescope. Decided to purchase this for a gift to myself for the holidays. Have been itching to see space again. This telescope is all metal, hefty, and very user friendly and accurate for the handful of times ive used it. Love the sleek colors too. Alot of things on this telescope can be adjusted for whatever you may want to see in space. I am still in process of learning/getting a feel for the telescope, due to me living in a cold and snowy area. So viewing space right now slightly limited. I can not wait to use this a lot more when it gets warmer. I love the digital eyepiece that this came with, came with instructions and the app for my iOS was not complicated nor not easy to understand. Pretty much plug and play, very little setup. Perfect for saving photos of the cosmos. The screenshot I took is of the moon, it is not clear, I know. That is because it was freezing cold outside (hands were cold :( ) But if my hands were not cold I would've been able to get a clearer picture. Again this telescope has so many things you could adjust for your needs. Comes with the 3 lenses, phone mounts, etc. Instructions/manual was clear and easy to understand. It was very easy to assemble and use. I had no problem following instructions. I love it. I watch the planets and I have fun birdwatching with it as well. I was surprised how big this telescope was when it arrived, and found that all aspects of it's construction were high quality, even down to the packaging. I was able to get the digital eyepiece working pretty quickly, and that made it so much easier to view the objects, and snap pictures of them. I have yet to hook-up and use the bluetooth switch which allows you to do that without touching the telescope and phone, but looking forward to that. I did find the rangefinder positioning (where it is mounted) to be difficult to view to set up what you want to look at, but I am a novice and I likely need to get used to that. So far, so good, although so far this month the moon and weather have not made it easy doe viewing. My only other question is where the photos go when I snap them - I haven't found them yet, but will reach out to support soon for that ... show more

Worse than terrible customer service! My telescope arrived with a lens defect...the large white spot you see in the middle of the lens as seen in the attached picture. I've tried...repeatedly...to get a customer service replacement for this and all we have managed (since April of 2024) thus far is to send e-mail back and forth. Every photo I take is marred by this defect. The eclipse video I shot...yep, same stupid dot in the middle of my images. There are lots of places to spend your hard earned money. If you want a telescope, I'd select a different vendor. This company just isn't interested in customer service. ... show more
